102 | Can we know when? | Matt 24:44 | charis | 3500

104 | Fiscal Responsibility? | Matt 25:29 | charis | 22170
Dear saints of the forum, Blessings one and all, in the name of Jesus! Does this verse apply only to spiritual talents, or can it also refer to fiscal responsibility? Are there any Scriptures that speak of the financial responsibility of both sheep and shepherds? In Christ Jesus, charis |
||||||
105 | Prosperity/Stewardship? | Matt 25:29 | charis | 22186
Dear Searcher, Greetings in Jesus' name! If this is (then) fiscal responsibility, then how does a sheep wisely use his resources, and how does a shepherd wisely use his (the church's) resources? What is the responsibility of a sheep for the church/shepherd, and of the shepherd for the church/sheep? In the above parable, one method was pleasing to God, one was not. Does this speak of the 'prosperity' message, or simply good stewardship? In Christ Jesus, charis |

106 | Commandments absolute? | Matt 28:20 | charis | 3502
Colleagues, Are these commandments a new set of laws? Are they alive or dead? (i.e. subject to birth, growth, degradation, restoration, or are they 'set in stone,' rigid and unbending) Are all the commandments 'knowable' by man, in an absolute sense? Blessings in the Lord Jesus, charis |
||||||
107 | Conscience? | Matt 28:20 | charis | 3517
Dear reformedreader, Thanks for a beautiful answer! By the way, this is not Chris, but charis, another nice fellow :-) You wrote, "They are set into the hearts of all believers in the respect they are the believers Christian duty and obedience from a loving heart for their Lord." I agree with this, that the loving heart is what makes our adherance acceptable to God. Might this 'natural ability to know right and wrong' be termed 'conscience,' as in that part of us which is created in the image of God? Do these commandments include many of the things that divide the church of Jesus? Indeed, many Christians are uncomfortable discussing such questions. Might it be that such questions would undermine traditions of men that divide the church into so many entities, often focusing on things that have nothing to do with a heart after God? Blessings in Jesus' name, charis |

108 | Are all servants? | Mark 9:35 | charis | 29517
Dear Saints, Are all servants? Where do we serve? Who do we serve? In Christ Jesus, charis |
||||||
109 | 'Practical' service? | Mark 9:35 | charis | 29592
Dear yokefellow, Greetings in Jesus' name! Thank you for a good 'spiritual' answer! Friend, I am not against any of your answers, but desire more depth. I believe that Christian servanthood is one of our 'prime directives,' so would like to broaden the question(s). Please do not take this as a refutation of your post. :-) 1) But wasn't Paul a minister? Of course he had to serve, but what about 'regular' (or irregular? :-)) Christians? Where does the Bible tells us that we ALL must serve? 2) The kingdom of God is a large place, and most of it we have yet to see. I ask in a more temporal sense, a bit more specifically, where do Christians serve in the here and now? 3) Do we serve 'only' God? As God is spirit, our service to Him would be faith and praise and worship. Are there no 'physical' aspects to service? i.e., all we have to do is believe and praise and worship? Yokefellow (great name!) and fellow saints, I don't mean to be 'unspiritual,' but as a minister of the Gospel I desire to know what the Word speaks of more 'practical' service to God. Blessings in Christ Jesus, charis |

110 | How to sharpen service skills? | Mark 9:35 | charis | 29601
Dear Emmaus, Greetings in the name of Jesus! I would have to agree that (ideally) we should serve in all we say and do, in the name of Jesus, and as unto the Lord Himself! Yes also to husband/wife, parent/child, master/slave and citizen/community(country) relationships! But what about sheep/shepherd and sheep/sheep relationships in the local church? So far, I dont see much being said about service in this realm. Truly, most of us are rather poor and grumbling servants! What does the Bible say about sharpening those service skills? How do we differentiate between serving the 'institution' and serving the Lord in His church (His people)? Joy and peace in Christ Jesus, charis |
||||||
111 | Politics source? | Mark 13:28 | charis | 33189
Dear SRN, Greetings in the name of Jesus! I, too, would be intersted to know where the information about the 'politics' of Jesus' time came from. Please, what does "Your Spirit in the Spirit" mean? I am unfamiliar with that phrase. In Christ Jesus, charis |
||||||
112 | Jesus separated fron the Trinity? | Mark 15:34 | charis | 1165
Jesus separated from the Trinity? I don't quite understand your meaning, Mike. Did He return to the Trinity? In Christ Jesus.
113 | Experience Hell? | Mark 15:34 | charis | 1166
Shaka, braddah! I got the 'understand death' part, but I'm not sure what you mean about the 'experience Hell' part? Again, 'separation' from His identity? Please elaborate. In Jesus.
114 | So, not separated from the Trinity? | Mark 15:34 | charis | 1189
So, not separated from the Trinity? Truly, friend, I am not trying to be picky. It is just that some people would receive that phrase as 'from a scholar,' and abuse it. I ask only for the sake of clarification. By the way, good answer! In Jesus.
115 | 'Separation' and 'Experience?' | Mark 15:34 | charis | 1609
Dear delores, Xapis, and Hawaii Ken Armstrong (and maybe some others) I have been studying this verse and the context for some time now, and still cannot find in the Bible the doctrine of Jesus' 'temporary' separation from the Trinity and 'experiencing' Hell. Maybe I am just obtuse, but I would like to hear scriptural evidence of these things. I am not an heretic, I completely believe that Jesus died for my (our) sins. I just can't find anywhere in the Bible where it says that Jesus was 'separated' from the Godhead, even for a moment. That Jesus was a man and the Son of God at the same time is a well-documented Biblical doctrine, often called a mystery, why modify it? (I am aware that it SOUNDS emotionally appealing to dwell on a 'separation,' and maybe even 'seems' to answer the mystery) As to 'experiencing' Hell, Jesus as God cannot 'experience' sin or spiritual damnation. He experienced HUMAN damnation, and bore OUR sins as a substitutionary sacrifice. He became 'sin' on our behalf, in order to abolish it. I can got to 'jail- ministry' and evangelize, and even get to know the inmate's plight, but you have to commit the crime and be incarcerated for it to truly 'experience' jail. You can go to India as a missionary, and even live there for years, but unless you are 'with the people' and living like they do, you can never 'know' their situation. Again, this concept appeals to the ear and to the soul, but is it from God's word? I ask humbly for an explanation, and ask pardon for a 'dumb' question. In Christ Jesus.

Saints, Good sermon today! Was Israel saved or not? In Christ Jesus, charis |
||||||
119 | O.T. Israel salvation? | John 6:49 | charis | 35025
Dear Greg, Greetings in the name of Jesus! Is this verse (then) telling us that in Moses' time, those saved from Egypt crossing the Red Sea soon 'lost' their salvation? (except for Joshu and Caleb) Even Moses died in the wilderness. Did some 'lose' their salvation, then 'regain' it? I'm sorry that I wrote such a broad question. :-) You were speaking of Israel after the revelation of Christ, but what about the salvation of Israel in Exodus? in Joshua? What part does the Promised Land play in the salvation of Israel? Israel was saved "out" of Egypt, but this entire generation (except two) were not saved "into" the Promised Land. The wandered in the desert for 40 years. Were they 'un-chosen?' In Christ Jesus, charis |
