2 | Who is Israel? | Ex 23:25 | yayatheresa | 146791
What scripture do you give to support your stand here and in your response to me? If I am counted in the sight of God as Israel, or as scripture refers to me often, the seed of Abraham, then I can count this blessing as mine. I also have to meet the same condition that is given. I have to serve the Lord God. Your response to Mitch on this seemed convoluted to me. He in no way indicated that to receive the blessing you would not have to also meet the condition. The post by Moran61 said this Gal 3:29 is only about Jesus the seed . It doesn’t say that at all. It says if we be Christ’s (belong to Christ) then we are Abraham’s seed. And because we are Abraham’s seed we are HEIRS. You admit it says we are the children of promise but again I emphasize it doesn’t stop at that it says we are also heirs. I would like to know more about unconditional promises. The only thing I can think of right now is God’s love is unconditional and I also guess we can count God’s promise not to destroy the earth with water again. I am not disputing you on this but I would like scripture for your statement that I can learn from. I will also need you to tell me with scripture where the blessings of the Old Covenant stopped being in effect. Or if you consider any of it pertinent to us today what part? Lastly this may have to be my last post. I am one of those many would call “name it and claim it” “blab it and grab it” I highly esteem the teaching and ministries of Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, and other ministries of this type. Do you consider their doctrine false and unorthodox Christianity? They teach what I am saying here and what Mitch seems to have been trying to say. If so I will obey the rules of the site moderators and leave in love. But you will not have a well balanced forum. :) Here are some of the scripture I stand on that tell me I am Abraham’s seed and heir of the blessings: Rom 2:28-29 “For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God” Rom 4:12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised. Rom 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, Rom 9:6-8 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children but, In Isaac shall they seed be called. That is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. Gal 3:26-29 For ye are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bon nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Theresa |

3 | Who is Israel? | Ex 23:25 | yayatheresa | 146815
Yes I do. Thank you for the scriptural reference but it does not apply here. Their ministries are word based. Therefore because I highly esteem the word above all else, I esteem these ministries. Theresa |

I will choose to believe you have responded in love. I maintain that I highly respect and honor these ministries and especially Kenneth Copeland's Ministry. They are anointed of God. I will respond to you also in love. Psalm 105:15 |

5 | In what ways does depends on God? | Ps 25:15 | yayatheresa | 169220
Please read Psalm 27:1-3. David depended on God as his light (v 1), his salvation (v 1), his trust (v 1), his strength (v 1), his life (v 1), his confidence (v 1), his protector from the wicked (v 2), his protector from enemies (v 2), his refuge from the multitudes (v 3), his help in war (v 3). This is a sample of his dependence. You can read more througout the scriptures and the psalms in particular. God Bless you in your study of his word, YayaTheresa |

6 | who are the kings found in ezekiel 28:17 | Ezekiel | yayatheresa | 169218
The prince of Tyrus (Ezekiel 28:1-10) is an earthly king. According to Jocephus he was Ithobalus II. The king of Tyrus spoken of in Ezekiel 28:11-19 is Lucifer who was the spiritual king. These verses must be understood to have a double meaning. Both earthly and supernatural kings are referred to and addressed in this prophecy. Statements that could refer to the human being must be understood as concerning him; and those that could not be spoken of a man must be recognized as referring to the supernatural being. For example: No man could be an "anointed cherub" (verse 14) |

7 | Mitch, Did Jesus heal everone? | John 5:8 | yayatheresa | 146486
Not Mitch but I would like to answer. I cannot say that anyone among the "great multitude" other than the impotent man was healed that day. But I can't say with any certainty they weren't either. We also aren't told anymore about the moving of the water and who may have received healing that day from it. I do read: Matthew 8:16 "...and He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed ALL that were sick" Luke 4:40"...and He laid His hands on EVERY ONE OF THEM, and healed them. Acts 10:38 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing ALL that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him." I also read this: Mark 6:5 "And He could there do no mighty work, save that he laid His hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them" Then in Matthew 13:58 speaking of them same instance as Mark 6:5 "And He did not many mighty works there because of their UNBELIEF." It was then, and is now, unbelief that keeps us from receiving our healing or any of the other wonderful marvelous gifts provided to us through Jesus' completed work. Not unbelief in Jesus Christ as Savior and redeemer, but unbelief in Jesus the healer, provider, deliverer, protector. Jesus said: "as thou has BELIEVED, so be it done unto thee" Mt. 8:13 "According to your FAITH be it unto you" Mt. 9:29 "If thou canst BELIEVE, all thing are possible to him that believeth" Mark 9:23 "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, BELIEVE that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mark 11:24 In Act 3:1-9 we see Peter and John going to the temple at the hour of prayer. We are told this certain man was lame from his mother's womb and was laid daily at the gate. Wouldn't this be a place Jesus passed many times before? Most likely passing the man? But something is different this day. Peter and John do not have a different Holy Ghost than Jesus. They have the same anointing (John 14:12 17:18 20:22) so what could be different? Could it be that this day when the lame man looked on them EXPECTING TO RECEIVE he was able to receive by faith the healing that had been there all along as Jesus passed by? (Compare Act 14:8-10 where Paul PERCEIVED" the impotent man had faith to be healed) Theresa |

8 | Thank you | 1 Cor 13:1 | yayatheresa | 146492
I hope this is an appropriate way to use this forum. If it isn't just let me know and I'll try to measure up. My husband and I began posting here just over a week ago and we are having such a good time!! I want to thank you all for being patient while I have learned how to tell who I am speaking to, how to follow the thread. (I have a new meaning for that word now!) etc. At first I felt a little bit like I was being...well I'll say attacked because I can't think of another word, but I have read over much of what has been written and I can see that you have a great love for God and His Word as we do. I can see that those of you who were discussing with me about "results" were just telling us to be cautious to follow Jesus and not the wonder. I see some accept a woman in ministry and some don't. I see some (us included) believe God has provided healing for everyone and some don't. As long as we all love Jesus and want Him glorified above everything else, I guess the rest is great discussion? It certainly makes Robert and me study more. We do want above all else to know and understand the scriptures as God intended them even when they don't match up with our thoughts or traditions. I hope I have phrased this well. I wanted to tell you that I appreciate the obvious multitude of hours you have spent in the Word and I can feel the love of God over this forum. Thank you and God Bless, Theresa |

9 | Satan a good guy? | 2 Cor 11:14 | yayatheresa | 146494
I know the KJV isn't what's used for this forum but in that version it says "Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" I understand it to mean just what the NASB and Amplified say above. However in the area where my mother lives there is a man who calls himself a reverend and teaches that this means Satan is now a good angel and his angels are good angels. He says that the devil and satan are not the same. I know this is foolish doctrine, but I'm just wondering if it comes from someplace any of you are aware of. Some cult etc? Has anyone ever heard this teaching before? He also teaches that all the fallen angels are traveling back through us. They are the spirit we have in us and they are going through this life for a second chance at choosing Christ. Anybody ever heard this before? I can't remember the scripture he uses for this but I'll keep trying to. I am not concerned for my mom, but this man is very charasmatic and not a few of people I used to fellowship with when I lived there are following him now. Theresa |

10 | Jesus decended into hell? | Eph 4:9 | yayatheresa | 169221
Hell is located in the lower parts of the earth, not on the surface of the earth as the grave. (Eph.4:9; Mt. 12:40; Psm. 63:9; Is. 14:9; Pr. 9:18; Pr. 15:24; Ez. 31:14-18) God Bless you in your study of His word, YayaTheresa |

11 | Jesus decended into hell? | Eph 4:9 | yayatheresa | 169275
Sheol is the only word translated as hell in the Old Testament. I realize it is also translated grave in other verses but if you change it to grave at every instance then the word hell is never used in the Old Testament. Sheol is translated as pit in Numbers 16:33 where we see Korah and all that appertained to him go down into the pit alive. It is clear from this as well as other passages that the location of hell is in the heart of the earth (Mt. 12:40), the lower parts (Ps. 63:9 and Eph 4:9) Qeber is the Hebrew word for grave or the place of the body in the seen world and is never translated as hell. Sheol is the place of conscious souls and spirits in the unseen world. At the time that our Old Testament patriarchs were speaking and sheol-hell was translated as grave in a few places there was a section in the unseen world where their souls and spirits went. It is referred to as paradise (Lk 23:43) and was where righteous souls and spirits went before the resurrection of Christ. There was a great gulf between it and the torment compartment of the wicked souls (Lk. 16:19-31). They were in comfort awaiting their liberation from that place which came to them when Christ descended into sheol-hell and took captivity captive. (Eph. 4:8-10). Only the wicked go to sheol-hell now. God Bless, Yaya |

12 | Compare to Romans 10:9; 1 Cor 12:3? | Phil 2:11 | yayatheresa | 146467
Mommapbs, Paul is teaching here in 1 Cor on the proper use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in public worship. Verse 3 here is telling us that when we are speaking by the Spirit of God we never call Jesus accursed and that the Holy Spirit always recognizes and points to the Lordship of Jesus. Phil 2:11 says SHOULD confess (I am reading from the KJV). Man is the only thing God has created that still may choose not to bow to the name of Jesus. (But all men will bow either in this world or the world to come) So every tongue WILL confess. Everything else, demons, powers of darkness, sickness, calamity, infirmity, poverty, etc. everything must bow now in this world to the authority in the name of Jesus. Rom. 10:9 This is how we receive any of our covenant promises. We must believe in the completed work of Jesus that He accomplished through His death and resurrection. Then we must make a confession of that belief. Note: The meaning of the word translated as salvation means to be delivered, healed, protected, preserved. To be made whole. |

13 | Women in Ministry | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 145848
I have spent some time reading the notes, questions and responses on this site. This is my first note. I am a woman. I do not write this as someone with a personal and official ministry such as Joyce Meyer(?), Gloria Copeland, Paula White, etc. I am the wife of a deacon and considered a deacon as well in my church. I am also someone with a personal relationship with Christ and consider myself to be part of the "Great Commission" of Matthew 28:18-20. As of this writing that is the extent of my "ministry". I thank God for it and do not want to sound as if I minimize it. Only to assure the reader I do not have a personal agenda in what I write. I am seeking to know the truth as God declares it regardless of how it affects me personally as a woman. This writing of Paul in 1 Tim 2:11-12 as well as 1 Cor. 14:34-35 are the main texts given as to the silence of women in church. (Please anyone knowing of others let me know) I believe Paul explains the text in 1 Cor. by his response in V. 36. "What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?" He, as I understand, is responding to thier own teaching (V34 and 35) with his answer (V36). I will paraphrase it this way, "Are you serious? Are you God? and did you send out the word? or do you think you men are the only ones the word can come to?" The text in Timothy causes me to ask some questions. #1 Who is the man that the woman is not to usurp authority over? Is it any man at all? her husband? the male authority in her assembly? Or could it be Jesus Christ himself? #2 The use of the particular word usurp is important. One definition according to Webster is "to seize or exercise authority or possession wrongfully" Doesn't this sound like the woman here is trying to assume authority OVER the person (man or woman?) that God has placed in the position in question? Timothy was left in charge of the church in Ephesus where the main focus of the city had been on the worship of the goddess Diana. (Act 19:27-28) Could this spiritual wickedness have been a reason for this verse? I do not want to appear to say that this text is not for all times and all people. It is, as is all scripture. I have a problem with scripture being explained away with phrases such as "that was for their culture" or "that was for their time". I am convinced that God the Holy Spirit was not only in control of the content of the Holy Scriptures but also of preserving the exact content he wanted. No doubt there were letters and sermons that were for certain assemblies at certain times in history. These were not preserved by God to be set forth as timeless and changeless truths for all mankind. I know of no assembly of believes that adhere to a strict 'women in silence" doctrine. If we believe this is what Paul is teaching in 1Cor. 14:34-35 then women cannot be vocal at all in church. Not to sing, to testify, nothing. We cannot just pull out certain areas of speaking (preaching, teaching, etc.) and apply them here. If he meant keep silent. Then silent women must be. Does this line up with the multitude of other scriptures where women spoke about God and were used of God? For me it does not. Even in the Old Testament women could choose to: be a Nazarite (Num 6:2), be a prophetess (many instances Old and New Testament), Deborah was a Judge of Israel. Surely she had some authority over men in that position. Priscilla and her husband Aquila taught the man Apollos (Act 18:27). What is this? Can a woman teach one man and not two?. Is it the number of men present when she speaks or her geographical location at the time? Can she only expound and give what she has received from God only in her home? I am still learning and coming to an understanding of this and other, teachings. I am teachable and want with my whole heart to know the truth as God gives it. So I do not write this as an absolute. I would like some responses here to weigh out. For those who would wonder why I do not ask my own husband. We have studied this together and are of the same opinion and have the same questions. He has read this note and is interested as I am in the response we will receive. |

14 | Women in Ministry | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146207
Thank you for each of your responses. I need to clarify that I was not writing because I am struggling with a call from God for myself. I am satisfied that I am doing all that He has asked of me at this time. I say it in that way because I do not want to make any declarations about what He may ask in the future. I want to be open to the Spirit and available for any assignment. Being prepared is the reason for my note. I was looking for council from others more mature than myself so that I might be able to give answer to those I frequently encounter that object to entire ministries, even those with male leadership, because a woman may speak there from time to time. I hope this is an appropriate way to use this website. To glean from the abundance of spiritual knowledge and council available and apply it to "exhort and to convince the gainsayers" (Titus 1:9) I desire to be more articulate and better equiped for this work as I have a large family and work among people who frequently challenge me in many areas of my faith. Some of their questions are difficult to verbally answer. I also realize that often the person who initiates these challenges is beyond convincing at the moment but they usually choose to do this in the presence of others and it is for the sake of those listening I need to be equipped as well as I can. Does this make any sense? I feel like I'm rambling so I'll stop. |

15 | Results DO matter | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146251
I am very surprised at your statement "It also doesn't matter in the results..." Have you read where Jesus said "If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me , and I in him." John 10:37-38? What if Jesus had not had "results" in His ministry. Also Mark 16:20 :And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen". And Mark 16:17 "And these signs (results) shall follow them that believe...." This is God's litmus test as to who is a believer? Each of us should measure our believing by our results. They do matter. These are only a few of the scriptures for your consideration. Are you implying that the confirmation God has promised doesn't matter. If that were true wouldn't you be saying that it is the one who is most able to articulate their faith one should believe is correct? I have heard Buddhists and Muslims and many other non-christian followers that are very convincing. If you believe that results really do not matter then you are leaving the unbelieving and unlearned to make their choice according to who they hear and who makes the best verbal argument for their faith. God is wiser than that. He knew the enemy is cunning and that is why He confirms His Word with "results". I understand that Satan can do some signs also. And of course God does not support them. The magicians withstood Moses and his wonders for a time. But all they could do was create the same curse (to a point). They could not bless the Egyptians by removing the curse Moses brought. Read it yourself. I hope you will see. |

17 | Women pray and prophecying and teaching | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146253
Paul answers many questions and manners of conduct that were made known to him about the church at Corinth. In chapter 11 v.4-15 he is doing just that. Note in verse 16 he tells them "we have no such custom, neither the churches of God" The church there was being instructed by Paul on how to conduct their public meetings as well as their personal walk. Be careful when you read to know which he is addressing. NOTE: In Acts 1:1 Luke tells us he wrote his first letter that bears his name to show "all that Jesus began both to do and teach". Jesus BEGAN the teaching and it continues through the Holy Spirit throughout the New Testament when men were inspired to write. |

18 | Women pray and prophecying and teaching | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146254
I responded to quickly to your question. I am not sure where you get your 1Tim 2 about prophsey. My bible translation says "teach". Is that what yours says? I am not splitting hairs there is a difference. Look at my post on Women in Ministry. I have some questions about this scripture also.
19 | Results DO matter | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146260
Ok, so we don't agree. However you scripture reference of Acts 5:34-40 is one I would consider to show that results DO matter. Isn't Gamaliel saying that if this is of God it won't go away? There will be results. ????
