21 | Confused | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146275
Searcher now I am really confused!!! You were the one who used the text containing Gamaliel's statments. Now you discrediting them? Possibly they need to be because his were words though truly spoken are not necessarily truth. Our Bible contains statments by many who were ungodly and is another example of how we need to study and know who is saying a thing before we us it as a doctrinal truth. Reading back over how this all got started I see that Jirehway was making a very valid point in saying that the "results" of her ministry should stand on their own. Not whether or not God accomplished them through a man or a woman. Only that they were the work of God. Maybe I should clarify what I have meant by "results". (I cannot, of course, speak for Jirehway) I consider results the same as God does. "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Mark 16:15-18 Jirehway has told us she has been in ministry for over 30 years. If during those 30 years noone had come to believe that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessed Him as Lord, then there could be some concern as to whether or not her ministry is of God. But on the basis of the results not on her gender. |

But didn't they have results in that what they prophesied came to pass?
23 | Results DO matter | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146278
Good point. never heard it before, but then I was not aware that people frequently referred to Gamaliel's words as doctrine.
24 | What's up Doc? | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146279

25 | What we mean by results | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146284
Am I missing something? We began by talking about whether or not ministries should have results. Whether it is Ezekiel, Jeremiah, or you or me-God, of course, is doing the work. He gets all the glory. The point is we know they were used of God because their ministry had results. Their prophesies came to pass.
26 | Still trying to understand | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146285
I am new to this process of having discussions over the internet. I have never done it before so could you explain why the author for that response listed in the thread is Searcher56? How can I be sure some other ID won't pop out when I post?
27 | What we mean by results | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146289
No. Deut. 13 gives the test of a false prophet. Even if the sign or wonder he gives comes to pass and he attempts to draw people to another God then he is a false prophet. Ministries that are ordained of God will always procaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Thanks I will get the hang of it.
29 | What we mean by results | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146302
Of course not. Every ministry ordained of God will always point to Jesus and only Jesus. But God is still the one who said He will confirm His word with signs following.
30 | Ministry of God? | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146303
You're right the city wasn't destroyed in 40 days. But it was destroyed. What would you give as the measure of a ministry ordained of God?
31 | Still trying to understand | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146304
I think I'm getting it now. Sorry about the confusion.
32 | Well said | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146317
Well said. that is our individual goal. What about the goal for a ministry
33 | What we mean by results | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146318
Sorry about the mixup. I didn't realize when I began to discuss results that everyone was assuming I meant numbers. I don't I mean God confirms His word. He confirms His anointings. There has to be some sort of results. I never meant numbers were the only result. Sorry about that.
34 | What's up Doc? | 1 Tim 2:12 | yayatheresa | 146319
Searcher...... From the short time I have been here I wouldn't say that. You both have given me a lot to consider. YaYa |

38 | If we ask for healing does God answer no | 1 Peter | yayatheresa | 146330
The statement doesn't stop at Thy will be done. The continuous statement is: Thy will be done, in earth, as it is in heaven. If there is sickness and disease and bondage and sin and poverty and affliction or any of that in heaven then we can say that it is God's will for the earth. If there is not then it is not His will for the earth either. Please, please remember what we receive here is not according to God's will but our's. Remember it not His will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2Peter 3:9) But we know there are those who do perish. We have been given the same authority that Jesus had. We operate through His name to bring the will of God in the earth as in heaven. We do this by faith in the name of Jesus and knowing what He has accomplished. Remember Hosea 4:6. His Word is His will. We are without excuse really for not knowing it. Thank Him for his mercy when we are ignorant of it!!! |

39 | If we ask for healing does God answer no | 1 Peter | yayatheresa | 146331
His Word is His will. We really have no excuse for not knowing it. It is in there if we dig it out. Act 10:38 tells us that Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil...So healing is good. Or else if it had been God's will He (Jesus) would have been working against God the Father. How crazy is that to think about? |
