1 | true saving faith | Heb 11:1 | teragram123 | 66379
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is not believing in spite of the evidence but obeying in spite of the consequences. Dynamic faith involves the whole person... mind will and emotions... The mind understands the truth The heart desires the truth, but the will must act upon the truth |

4 | inmorality also if the couple will marry | Eph 5:31 | teragram123 | 63838
If sex is the "act of marriage" than are you saying that people "marry" a differant mate every time they engage in the sex act? Or those that have sex with an animal is than married? No wonder our nation is in such a mess... the divorce rate among Christians now out ranks that of the unbelievers. If you are a Christian, how can you give such ungodly advise? NO ... the sex act does not constitute a marriage any more than meowing makes me a cat! Marriage is entered by vows between a man and a women before witnesses and before a HOLY God! Sex is the privelege of the married couple. Sex outside of marriage is sin... as the brother justme has said. Acts 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. 1 Cor. 5:1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. 1 Cor. 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. 1 Cor. 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Cor. 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. 1 Cor. 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 2 Cor. 12:21 And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Ephes. 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Col. 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 1 Thes. 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. |

5 | mockers of the true way of holiness | 1 John 3:12 | teragram123 | 63611
Cain was of the evil one... his father satan. The Jewish leaders of Christ’s day were also of their father.... satan. John 8:42-47 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. [43] Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. [44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. [45] And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. [46] Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? [47] He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. There have always been mockers of the true way of holiness. But God has not changed nor will He change His standard. Jude 1:17-23 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; [18] How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. [19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. [20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, [21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. [22] And of some have compassion, making a difference: [23] And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. |

6 | shew thee my faith by my works | 1 John 3:12 | teragram123 | 63610
The righteousness of the saints will cause an anger from the self righteous. Thus the wheat is clearly separated from the tares. Tares grow in the same field (church setting) as the true wheat. The time of the harvest reveals the true from the false. The true will have the fruit of the Spirit. The wheat and tares parable is not about sinners vs saints but rather saints and the “so called saints”... or hypocrites. Not living what they say they believe in. Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Cain was angry when he was not recieved. His works were not according to God’s HOLY demands. Note that when Christ came and visited the 7 churches of Revelation, each time He said “I know thy works”... Not once did He say I see your heart! Paul knew the truth - James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. |

7 | His Right Standing Establishes My Place | Ps 89:16 | teragram123 | 63608
1 John 3:2-7 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. [3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. [4] Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. [5] And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. [6] Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. [7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. |

8 | Heresy or true? | John 3:18 | teragram123 | 63600
This reminds me of the tragedy of the Titanic.. I understand that the call and flares for help were sent in plenty of time for a safe rescue from the ship nearest to them; However do to indifference and lack of concern they delayed the rescue. Only a portion of the people were therefore reached in time. So who was to blame? All could have been saved or at least given the chance. Grace was available but the vessels God would have used did not respond. The commission has been given to the church to go into all nations and tell the good news. Yet have we even concerned ourselves with our own neighbors? When a missions service is scheduled at our churches... many of the “Christians” stay away! Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 1 John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? Christians today are simple not taking up HIS cross. |

9 | Catholic Jew? | Gal 2:7 | teragram123 | 63591
Galatians 2:7-8 On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the Gentiles, just as Peter had been to the Jews. [8] For God, who was at work in the ministry of Peter as an apostle to the Jews, was also at work in my ministry as an apostle to the Gentiles. Being raised in the Catholic belief... I find it rather interesting now since I believe on Christ alone, that there is such a blindness toward this verse. Personally, I have yet to encounter or even hear of a Catholic Jew. Yet Peter is held to be the first Pope of the church. The Catholic Church has historically held a very anti semantic view toward the Jews. One would think since Peter was commissioned to the Jews, the Catholic Church would than be comprised of a majority of Jews... however the very opposite is true. This was a very clear point to me when I began to read and search for truth... God is so faithful... John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |

10 | gold refined | Rev 3:18 | teragram123 | 63049
Rev. 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. GOLD by Rev. Martin Sharlow The Lord has been showing me that all of creation is a pattern, or better yet; a picture of the Lord. About a week or so ago, I was panning gold and I became extremely frustrated with the fact that there was so much fool’s gold in the creek. I could see this as a pattern but I just could not get it in focus. So I brought it up at home to John and Connie saying there had to be a picture here or else God had a big sense of humor. Well, Connie hit upon it almost immediately and then I began to understand the picture. First, understand that gold represents the child of God. While fool’s gold represents the counterfeit. Wherever gold is found, there is almost always a large amount of fool’s gold. It's almost a guarantee. But not so, the other way around. Just because you find fool’s gold doesn't mean gold is there. Fool’s gold comes in many different forms. Each one you have to learn how to identify, because they are not always alike. But they always distract you from the real gold. Real gold is always unique. In fact, it's recommended that you learn what the real gold looks like so you will never be fooled. It always looks the same. It comes in many forms and shapes, but it always has the same luster. But fool’s gold, like mica, looks more like gold than the actual gold. It's shinier, thus it's brighter and sticks out easier. So it actually speaks louder than the gold. Many times I have to eliminate the mica so I can see the real gold. Another true test of gold is that when it's put under pressure it is malleable and doesn't break under pressure. But fool’s gold always breaks and crumbles under pressure. Fool’s gold only reflects light if it is caught in the right angle, while gold always maintains the same luster no matter what angle or where you look at it. Now this actually applies to more than just Christians. It can apply to out pourings or really anything that applies to the Lord. Well I hope this helps you and sorry it took me awhile to get this back to you. http://members.aol.com/GSmith5647/Martin1.html |

11 | Is it true worship? | John 4:23 | teragram123 | 62998
Is it true worship?---- con't It is not about making God feel good about Himself any more than it is about making us feel good about ourselves. He is complete, He is not an egotist who needs building up, He is God! For goodness sake, where did we ever get the idea we could add to the sum of who God is and what God is? Did we think, like Zebedee's wife, that we could come and bow before Him to seek our own will? The religious mind likes to think that all of God's creation is about God and that we are here just to serve Him and for His pleasure - and there is an element of truth in this, but we need to look deeper. Why did God want dear children, why did He, who was complete in Himself, want a family? Because Love, by His very nature, has an innate desire to reproduce, to expand, to fulfill, to provide, to be expressed. Praise and Worship is so much more than thanking God for what He has done, it is loving God for who He is. Love is unconditional, Worship is unconditional. I love my wife not for what she can do for me, but for who she is. I am learning to love her in a deeper way, by learning to "know" Love, and when I am in agreement with Love, I am the Oneness I am with Love, and so Love is being perfected in me and I love with the Love of the Lord. Just Love God for who He is, for He is Love.-- Strom |

13 | Is it true worship? | John 4:23 | teragram123 | 62996
IS IT REALLY WORSHIP? I wondered why it was that in situations of "praise and worship", that I at times felt a distinct unease as to the credence of much of what was being done in the name of God, and felt a reluctance to join in with what my heart could not witness. I asked Jesus to please show me what it was that caused me to so feel so ill-at-ease, or to hold back. He has since shown me that much of what is offered as Praise and Worship is in fact self-centered and self-seeking. We think that God wants our Praise, so like idol worshipping pagans we tender our praise hoping that in return the god(s) will hear and grant us what we desire in return. This is not what God wants, He wants us to come to Him with a pure heart desiring only to Know Him - for this is eternal life. Some time ago, I heard a widely published and well respected speaker say to a congregation that we were to give God all the Glory because He wants it and He needs it. The Holy Spirit spoke up on the inside of me and said, "no I don't need it, I have all the Glory I will ever need because I am Glory". God's Glory, or the Glory which results from us doing the will of God, is like a loaded gun in the hands of a child. We are to commit it to Him, for safe-keeping. This is the treasure we are to lay up in Heaven, this is also your eternal reward for your earthly obedience, and your "good deposit", or storehouse. (Matt 6:19-21, 12:35, Mark 10:21, 2 Cor 4:17). I recently watched a replay of T.D. Jakes speaking at the "Woman thou art loosed - 2001" conference, and it electrified me! What The Lord opened to me through this was that when people want what we have they will seek to gain it through giving us what they believe we want. This is the basis of most transactional exchange. So when advertising salespeople come into my shop trying to sell to me, the first thing they invariably do is to try and "stroke" my ego be telling me what a wonderful shop I have, and or what a nice guy I am, thinking this will gain my favor. This is all based in fear, greed and manipulation. So, if we are given to the thought that God "wants" or needs our praise and worship, and that we in turn "want" what God has for ourselves, then we will try to make the transaction by attempting to buy His favor with our "adoration". We try to manipulate God, when we still hold (any of) our own life in our own hands. Our (real) life is hid with Christ in God, so if and when we do not live in true submission to the Will of God and under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, (why do you call me "Lord", and do not the things which I say?) then we seek to manipulate Him by maintaining lordship over our own will - get it? When we hold up our up-turned hands in true Praise and Worship, and yield ourselves as a vessel of and to righteousness, we cease from manipulation. We ought then also see our manipulating of others for what it really is, and so seek deliverance from this most odious and onerous of human character traits. If we come seeking to "worship" God, and there is any duplicity in our heart, any unresolved unforgiveness, unrepented attitudes and actions which contradict the Word of Truth and the Love nature of God, then we deceive ourselves, because we do not "know" the Truth, and they that (truly) worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, with clean (empty) hands and a clean heart. As in communion, if we do not "rightly discern the body, we eat and drink judgment to ourselves." Jesus told me that the reason He wants our Praise and Worship is not for His sake, it is for our sake - it is so we can learn how to love unconditionally with the unconditional Love of God which is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. So we can learn to align our will with His Will and walk in the righteousness He has established for us, and in the freedom He bought for us with His life's blood. -- Strom |

I want to share this email with the forum Thunder Ministries From:Andrew Strom In regard to "The church charging", this is something that God has challenged me about personally over the years,in very practical areas. Let me share with you some of the ways He has led us to do things. As you probably know, we make entry Free to all our conferences and so on. I just cannot go along with the idea of charging people to come and hear the word of God. I mean, what is next - charging people to come to church on Sunday? Isn't it the same principle? I have been strongly influenced in my attitude toward this by Keith Green, who stated: "I will never do a ticketed concert. If the Lord chooses to increase my standard of living, then I will increase my standard of giving. I don't think a Christian should get rich off Jesus, except spiritually." Challenging words especially in today's climate. As much as possible, we now make our CD's and books available for a donation rather than a set price, so even people with little money can get a copy. (Again, this is very similar to Keith Green's policy). However, we recently had to put my new book "The Coming Street Revival" into Christian bookstores across NZ, and so I had to come up with a set retail price. It now sells in the shops for the equivalent of 4 dollars U.S or so. I just can't understand why so many books need to be so expensive in Christian shops. Having said all of that, I am now virtually full-time in Christian ministry (apart from a little English tutoring that I do). And I am constantly faced with the dilemma of how we are going to survive as a family long-term. We have six children and a mortgage, and I left a secure job as a teacher several months ago because it just got too overwhelming trying to do ministry and work full-time. So I can see why many ministries try and make things more "secure" in the financial area by charging money for things. However, I cannot believe that it is right to do so. I do believe in "muzzling not the ox who treads out the corn" and also "counting those who teach well as worthy of double honour." I feel it is right that there be financial blessing in the lives of God's servants so that all of their needs are met. Those who are being fed by a particular ministry should be sowing into that ministry. But I cannot believe that preachers should be living like kings. And I cannot believe that they should be spending 20 minutes begging for offerings. No wonder the world stands aghast! Below are a few other brief emails on this. God bless you all. - Andrew Strom. ****************************************** I recently went to a well-known female minister's seminar in our local colliseum. At least one fourth of her time was spent pushing and selling her books and tapes. It was almost like she was a one-woman corporate entity... not a ministry. God Bless her... but there were alot of poor minority people in the audience... Everyone was told to give 100 dollars to the ministry. (Suggested, not commanded). It grieved me terribly. A lot of the people in the audience were economically disadvantaged. This dear woman, who probably does have a gift of teaching, stood there in her fancy clothes with rhinestones and pressured people to buy, buy, buy... as if that was the answer. Yes, Jesus was preached and also the Gospel... It's become so accepted in our church culture. I thought I was weird to be so strongly turned off. Economically disadvantaged people are often the easiest to fall prey to these techniques and the myth that if you buy this tape set... your problems will go away. --------------- Thank you for that timely reminder about making the Church a vehicle for commerce. For some time I have been concerned about the commercialisation of the Gospel, and feel that Christians should think carefully before supporting these high profile profiteers with high priced seminars, books and tapes. They would not be able to continue this exploitation without the compliance of sincere, well-meaning, but gullible followers who attend their seminars and buy their wares. While I have no objection to authors and speakers defraying their expenses, I am saddened to see folk contributing to these people without question. ------------- It has always bothered me when you have to pay to go to a conference or some special meeting. The Gospel is free and why these men who put them on cannot trust the Lord to cover the conference or whatever is a mystery to me. I don't have anything against men selling books or CD's or whatever, but I do have a problem when someone says come to this or that but there is a cover charge of 35 or 55 dollars or more, just to get into the meeting. To me this is wrong and we as Christians need to stop supporting these types of meetings and then see what these Ministers do? |
