1 | is there proof in scripture of that? | Bible general Archive 3 | Ocelot | 167214
Here's one verse for you. Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them…” The word for Lord here, is Y’Hova, or as we would pronounce it, Jehovah, the Self-Existent or Eternal One. It was Jehovah who created the Earth. Ocelot |

2 | The devil questions. | Bible general Archive 3 | Ocelot | 170851
KumKum, Your questions are very good ones, and questions that MANY people ask. Unfortunately, to properly answer your questions would require me to write a small book. I would suggest that you go to a Christian book store and order yourself a copy of the book “Epic” by John Eldredge. In my opinion, it answers your questions very well. In Christian love, Ocelot |

3 | god shouldn't send people to hell. | Bible general Archive 3 | Ocelot | 171958
Dear Muzka, You are not wrong to ask this question. And you are not alone in wondering why a loving God would torture His own creations for eternal eons, in reprisal for a relatively short life of sin. Logically speaking, how could a God of Ultimate Love do such a thing? I for one don’t believe He will. I’m not trying to help you “shop” for a new belief. I’m just letting you know that you’re not alone. If you are interested, here is a web site that helps explain why I believe this. http://www.amazingfacts.org/items/free_library.asp Under the “select a topic” field you’ll have to select “Hell” I realize that my belief on this issue is in the vast minority. I do however believe that it is biblical. Ocelot Malachi 4:3 "You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing," says the LORD of hosts. |

4 | Ocelot, Who are His sons/ children? | Bible general Archive 3 | Ocelot | 171987
Dear Searcher, I’m not sure what John 1:12 has to do with what was being said. You’ll have to give me another hint. As for God wiping out everyone and everything but Noah and his family (and the animals on the ark), I’d say I have to agree 100 percent. I believe hell will be much the same. Everyone will be wiped out. Destroyed. I’m an annihilationist. Ocelot |

5 | WHERE DID ADAM N EVE'S CHILDREN FIND THE | Genesis | Ocelot | 170623
It was actually a convenient little set up they had going there, as they didn’t have to go far to look for a mate :-) Put bluntly, they married each other. You see, back then they didn’t have the genetic problems that would accompany such things nowadays. I hope this answers your question. Ocelot |

8 | why Satan appeared to Eve first? | Gen 3:1 | Ocelot | 165666
The Bible doesn’t specify why, however if I were to speculate, I’d say that Satan tempted Eve first because she was the first one to approach the Tree of the Knowledge of Good And Evil.
9 | genesis 4:14 | Gen 4:14 | Ocelot | 171704
Hello Softcom, and welcome to the Forum. The Bible does not tell us weather or not Adam and Eve had other children at that time. They very well may have had daughters by then. But your question is a VERY common one, in that people start reading their Bibles from the beginning and come to this verse and say “Wait a minute. Who is Cain talking about here? Maybe this Bible isn’t so inspired after all.” But Cain was simply speaking of generations to come. I hope this has answered your question. Ocelot |

11 | Joseph brother from oldest to youngest | Gen 43:33 | Ocelot | 191005
Dear Auntie, The Bible doesn't specifically tell us why he did this. However, we can see from other parts of the story that Joseph was trying to test his brothers to see if they had turned from their evil ways. I believe that this was just another way for him to psychologically put more stress on them to see if it changed their behavior. He would later do something similar to this when he would have his silver cup put into Benjamin's sack. I hope this helps. Ocelot |

12 | 98 year old , partially blind, broke nec | 1 Sam 4:18 | Ocelot | 168237
Hello clbuckner, and welcome to the forum. The man you asked about was Eli. 1 Samuel 4:17, 18 “Then the one who brought the news replied, "Israel has fled before the Philistines and there has also been a great slaughter among the people, and your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been taken." When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell off the seat backward beside the gate, and his neck was broken and he died, for he was old and heavy. Thus he judged Israel forty years.” Ocelot |

13 | Who's sword missed David in 2 Samuel | 1 Sam 18:11 | Ocelot | 179032
Hello TNS978, Welcome to the forum. I may be mistaken, but what you’re talking about sounds like what king Saul tried to do to David in the FIRST book Samuel “… while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and a spear was in Saul's hand. Saul hurled the spear for he thought, "I will pin David to the wall." But David escaped from his presence twice.” 1 Samuel 18:10, 11 “…as he [Saul] was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing the harp with his hand. Saul tried to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, so that he stuck the spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.” I Samuel 19:9, 10 I hope this helps. Ocelot |

15 | the prophet that confronted king david | 2 Sam 12:1 | Ocelot | 172013
2 Sam 12:1-7 Then the LORD sent Nathan to David. And he came to him and said, "There were two men in one city, the one rich and the other poor. "The rich man had a great many flocks and herds. "But the poor man had nothing except one little ewe lamb Which he bought and nourished; And it grew up together with him and his children. It would eat of his bread and drink of his cup and lie in his bosom, And was like a daughter to him. "Now a traveler came to the rich man, And he was unwilling to take from his own flock or his own herd, To prepare for the wayfarer who had come to him; Rather he took the poor man's ewe lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him." Then David's anger burned greatly against the man, and he said to Nathan, "As the LORD lives, surely the man who has done this deserves to die. "He must make restitution for the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing and had no compassion." Nathan then said to David, "You are the man! Ocelot |

2 Kin 2:22, 23 So the waters have been purified to this day, according to the word of Elisha which he spoke. 17 | How Elisha destroyed King Ahab? | 2 Kin 9:1 | Ocelot | 180176
Hello Totty, and welcome to the forum. The passage of scripture that you’re looking for is found in the book of 2 Kings. Chapter nine records the destruction of the heirs of Ahab and ends with the violent death of Jezebel. King Ahab’s death actually occurs much earlier in 1 Kings 22:29-40. I hope this helps Ocelot |

20 | Can Satan read our minds? | Ps 94:11 | Ocelot | 172800
Hello annamrowe, I’m no Greek scholar, but here are two verses that I found that I believe logically prove that only God is able to search hearts and read minds. “…and He [The Holy Spirit] who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27 And then in Revelation, Jesus says: “… And all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds.” Revelation 2:23 In the first verse God the Holy Spirit is described as “…He who searches the hearts…”, and in the second verse God the Son is described as “…He who searches the minds and hearts…” If Satan (or any one else but God) was able to “search hearts and minds”, then the descriptive titles in those verses would be deceptive, in that God would not be the ONLY one who is able to search hearts and minds. But God doesn’t lie. Only God is able to read our minds. Ocelot |
