Yes I think so. I will tell you my reason why. I have studied the old testament in depth; not all of it but many books. Looking at the relationship that the Lord had with Israel I saw that they were blessed when they obeyed the Lord and they were cursed when they did not. Also looking at the pagan nations, I saw that the Lord punished them for their wickedness. Before the punishment the Lord always sent warnings. Plenty of them. There came a time though when the warnings stopped and the punishment came. Always the innocent suffered along with the wicked. The Lord has always had a remnant. He cared for them through the judgment. I do not have to fear because the Lord has promised that He will never leave me nor forsake me. In all circumstances I am to trust and obey Him. Bible passages: Genesis,Exodus,Leviticus,Numbers, Deuteronomy, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, the minor prophets and the major prophets. Blessings, Val |

Hi Val, The primary challenge I have with this line of thinking is that God is dealing with individuals now, not nations! The Great White throne judgment is yet future! John 5:23 explicitly states, God has commited all judgment to the Son, "For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son" (NASB. Certainly God, in His permissive will allows such to happen. It's the result of the fall! But, I don't see this as His direct Divine judgment! Additionally, we can also develop a "worse works" mentality. If New Orleans was "punished", who's more deservant, and for what? Case in point, Stalin in Communist Russia and Mao in China systematically murdered 10's of millions of their own people. Isn't that much more deserving of punishment by God? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hi Brad, I don't want to argue, ok. I listed why this was my opinion. The questioner asked what do you think. I am not following your second paragraph, a worse works mentality. What does that mean? Stalin is before my time but I heard he is gone. Mao is he still around? The wicked will be punished I think. What is that saying, payday someday. I believe the bible says that the Lord is no respecter of persons. That is why I think he deals with wickness. It is His decision when and where not mine so it really doesn't matter what I think who is more deserving of punishment. As to God allowing bad things to happen, that is the mystery no one knows why but as I said in my last post "Trust and Obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey" God is in control. Individuals make up a nation. Again I would refer you to the passages I mentioned. And yes all wicked people and nations should fear the Lord. As Hebrews says if they do not repent all that is left is judgment. Let's agree to disagree. I don't want to start a fight on here and the thread turn ugly. Lets move on. Thanks - Val |

Dear Jack, With reference to the source cited, I urge you to stay away from the teaching of Kim Clement, a false prophet. He has been reported as a kind of fortune teller putting on the cloak of Christianity. In both OT (Deut 18:20-22) and NT (Mat 7:15, 24:11, 24:24, 2 Peter 2:1, 1 John 4:1, Jude 1:10-13) it has been warning us about false prophets. Read Deut 18:20-22 which talks about the strict identification and judgment on false prophet - put to death. All prophecies must be inline with scriptures. Just google on the web, you will easily find a number of comments and concern on the teaching of this notorious false prophet Kim. Please avail yourself with sound biblical teachings and always compare what you have been taught according to scripture based on the context not on a single verse or two. 2 Tim 3:16-17 2 Tim 2:15 Should you need any help in your study of the Holy Word, please ask and we will be glad to be of help. Shalom Azure |
