Hey BradK, Not sure why someone would want to be baptized more than once, why don't you ask jonny-b. I was only trying to give a Biblical answer. Do you find Scripture forbidding more than one water baptism? I have known a few people who were baptized as infants and felt the need or desire to be baptized as adults. I have also known people who spent a few years, shall we say in a backsliden state, who desired to be baptized again as a sign of a new committment to Christ. As far as your reference to 1 Cor. 12:13, I see no relevence to the question, other than it mentions the word "baptism". |

Hi BobbyF, I think the shortest answer to your question would be the prerequisite for water baptism which doesn’t imply infants or adults but a personal understanding of the person and work of Jesus the Christ. Acts 8:36-37 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? [37] And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Scripture doesn’t expatiate on the age for baptism but the ability to comprehend exactly who Jesus is and what he did as the Messiah. Have a great day, CDBJ |
