Yes. Luke 23:56 "And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment." Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. In this second verse the Greek word is sabbatismos, which is derived from the Hebrew shabbath. The new testament is full of examples of how Jesus and his apostles kept the Sabbath both before and after his death and resurrection. In fact all of the 10 commandments can be found in the new testament |

Greetings Steve! These are certainly examples of the Sabbath being kept, but I believe the question was whether or not there is a command in the New Testament to keep the Sabbath. None of these examples are imperatives. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
