Ed, your advise here seems sound, so I will follow it, however you are the one who orignally said "As a teacher you should instruct your people that the NIV they carry was published by a company that will go to any length to sell a book, even if it means changing the word of God." Would not your original advise be even more of an issue than confronting the Pastor? Should the flock be lead away from the recommendation of the shepard? Please be assured that I am not trying to "hammer" you on this point and I mean no offence. This is all in Christian love. | ||||||

newoldstock I don't think you hammering me on this. I think we have a obligation as a teacher to make others aware when all is not as it seems. How we do it is what I'm cautioning you about now. you might try to determine the pastor’s position perhaps he is well aware of the situation but doesn't view it as a problem. Maybe he is total disagreement with Zondervan but has decided to continue to use the NIV, or he could be unaware and would like to know about the NIV situation. Or he could be unaware and really not care. Any of these positions are valid and he should not be judged by which position he has taken. However what you do should be based on your findings. EdB |
