Reformer Joe: I have read you and BradK's dialogue. I would like to tell you how this comes accross to me. I say this in kindness and with respect to both of you. The spirit of the rules are to keep tensions down so this is a desirable Forum to contribute in. The letter of the rules and inforcing every dot and stroke will only add to the argument you are having, which is not the intention of the rules. This is a Bible Study Forum aand is able to be read by the public, saved and unsaved alike. Is this what you want others to read? Is this an example of how Christians love one another? Think about it, who is getting the glory by whats being said. I am by no means attempting to say I am not as much at fault as anyone else, but please brothers take a brake and spend a time remembering who it is we are to be an example of. Are we reflecting Jesus to others now? I don't think so. Think about this. I will be here to get a response is you so chose. Blessings and I say this in deep christian love. justme |

"The spirit of the rules are to keep tensions down so this is a desirable Forum to contribute in." I agree. I am in no way intolerant of opposing views, and I never would have appealed to the new moderator of this Forum to have our new headline established, no matter how much I disagree with those Christians who hold a view opposite to mine. "The letter of the rules and inforcing every dot and stroke will only add to the argument you are having, which is not the intention of the rules." Of course it's not. My responses are intended to facetiously reveal the ridiculousness of trying to say ANYTHING theological without stating something along the way that another Christian will disagree with. "Think about it, who is getting the glory by whats being said." Scripture is rife with satire and sarcasm. Glorifying God and ridiculing the silly behavior of our brothers in Christ are not always mutually exclusive propositions. "Are we reflecting Jesus to others now?" I think Jesus would be a lot more critical of what we are seeing here than I am. He certainly wasn't Pollyana when confronting hypocrisy. --Joe! |

"I think Jesus would be a lot more critical of what we are seeing here than I am. He certainly wasn't Pollyana when confronting hypocrisy." ...... Joe, specifically what hypocrisy, and whose hypocrisy, are you alluding to here? ...... And are you presuming to speak for Jesus? What do you think He would be critical of -- the posting of the notice banning Calvinism/Arminianism debates perhaps? --Hank | ||||||

"Joe, specifically what hypocrisy, and whose hypocrisy, are you alluding to here?" The hypocrisy of those who think that their own views are not "denominational views" and therefore are above critique, and who try to squelch opposing points of view that fall within the bounds of Christian orthodoxy while they want free rein to post their own. Hypocrisy. "And are you presuming to speak for Jesus?" Of course I am. I am Christ's ambassador. "What do you think He would be critical of -- the posting of the notice banning Calvinism/Arminianism debates perhaps?" I would say what I think he would be critical of, but that is now "VERBOTEN"... :) --Joe! |
