Ok, but since it is an interpretation of a Biblical passage on which a demonination [s] has/have established itself/themselves, I can leave my comment stand that it is Calvinism, right? | ||||||

Right. But but that does not mean it is wrong. No one but God's elect will be saved. Thats Bible! Matt 24:22 "Unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 2 Matt 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Matt 24:31 "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. 4 Mark 13:20 "Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days. Mark 13:27 "And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven. 7 Luke 18:7 now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? John And of course you forget to mention that the meaning of the word "elect' is the what is in dispute. No one argues what the Bible says “elect”. The question becomes did the writer mean to express the idea the word "elect" has now evolved into or did it mean something completely different. Tim has shown us many places where the word “elect” meant the current state rather than any predisposition. Therefore your answer while appearing to be innocent is actually presenting a bias and that is forbidden. So next time John when you piously defend your right to express an idea either present the true issue or give both sides else you find yourself in violation of the rules. EdB |

John Accurate? Without sharing both views you are pushing one. Without mentioning all the issue you present a picture that is not exactly true. It would be like me asking you, "do you still beat your wife?" what is implied is far more damaging than actually making a accusation. To be accurate you needed to present both sides of the issue or remain silent on it. EdB |
