Greetings everyone, I have just done a word search and only found 11 posts containing this word. It seems that no one is bothered by it, it's a doctrine that is as old as time and is as relevant as tomorrow. In times past it was of great importance but now in the "civilised" age do we "Protestants" have an answer or are we content/complacent? What is he on about? I was asked a simple enough question, " when a child dies, in the age of innocence, where does the soul go and how can the soul return to Heaven if sin is not allowed into the presence of Holy God? The word I was researching was," Limbo" the Catholic doctrine that is their answer, what is ours? Please do not waste time in telling me the rights and wrongs of this doctrine, or resurrect the old argument between scriptural and traditional, just give me an answer, or your understanding of this question. Thank you all and may the Holy Spirit inspire us. SHALOM RJJ. |

Hi rjj--this is a big problem--Raised catholic now Christian I am still with Jesus--I don't think there is a definite answer to this question--However,the whole word of God tells us this--"I AM-have faith in me"-some things will never have absolute answers here-we must "have faith in He who sent His Son here-who loves you so much-we must understand that He makes these decisions with all His love--we must "trust" Him-mkm9

Greetings mkm9 and many thanks for your response. I appreciate that this ? has been raised many times and if the Catholic Church can confirmm, as they did in 1992, a doctrine that most Protestants disagree with, what do they state as the answer? To answer with "have faith" is good but in what? the doctrine of Mother Church or Gods word? Remember that authority is given to the Church for interpretation, their doctrine not mine. SHALOM RJJ |

Hi RJJ--thx for reply--When you "say" "mother Church"-what do you mean?-This is my problem-as scripture teaches--"the church" is made up of every born again believer on the face of this planet--no denomination is "the only "church--You mention "have faith in what"--IN HIM-He is alive His whole word says have faith in ME-not in any denomination. in Him-mkm9

Greetings mkm9, I personly agree with you and SHOUT AMEN. I think that a study of the doctrines of the Catholic Church would open your eyes to the truth of the gospel. BUT I WOULD CAUTION YOU to be sure that you are strong, well grounded in understanding Gods word. SHALOM RJJ. P/s if you do not feel ready then by all means ask the FORUM. |

Hi rjj-what you "say" is very interesting-"study of the doctrines of the Catholic Church" will open my eyes--yet I must be "cautioned"---why?-Just what are you cautioning me against?--I know Jesus and His salvation and His kingship and His blood--why should I be cautious re: any churches doctrine?--in Him mkm9
