Dear parpar, You wrote, "The word of God cannot disagree with itself." You are quite correct! The word is logos, where we get the English "logic." The very foundation of logic is built upon the law of contradiction: two antithetical (opposite) propositions cannot both be true at the same time and in the same sense. Without it, there can be no rational thought, or any meaningful communication. Your example is very minor one, easily dealt with by understanding the context of those verses. Here is a harder one: How can a God, who by His own admission, be one "who will by no means clear the guilty" (Exodus 34:7), also be one "who justifies the ungodly" (Romans 4:5)? In Him, Doc |

Hi Doc, Indeed, God does not "clear the guilty". Rather, those whom He clears have died,(Eph 2:1 And you were dead in your trespasses and sins), and have been raised new creatures in Christ.(Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), Hopalong |
