I usually use the NKJ, have a parallel bible that has 4 translations in it, an amplified, Message, my daughter has the NIV for school. Mama had the Living Bible, I guess I'll see if I can find "The New Living Tranlation". Does it read more like a novel? I can read novels easier because you can skip on them. :) I remember I found one in a motel not long after I got saved that must have been very paraphrased because it was easy to read, almost like a novel. Wish I still had that. Then you read all these arguments on this translation vs that translation and just get confused and disgusted. |

Dear Norrie, I you really want to read a good version of the Bible that is accurate and "reads like a novel" like you said (and probably the one in the motel), then I suggest the The Good News Bible or TEV (Today's English Version) for you.. It is really easy to read and you may like it! It's reading level may fit you the best, since you may get 'confused' and 'disgusted'.. Blessings! Nolan |
