Some people today are buying things by scanning their hands. [I have said in my seminar that I have had 3 people tell me they have seen this happen. I have never seen this nor claimed that I have.] Gospel in the stars (i.e. The gospel in the stars theory attempts to disconnect or redeem, the constellation and the stars from their pagan association to reveal their original meaning. [In response to a question asked of me after a seminar I present the information about the zodiac as one option. Many have suggested this in the past. Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries has a great book on this topic. I do not know if there is anything to it or not, nor do I teach it dogmatically. It is an interesting field of research. That is all I think about it. If Hank disagrees that is fine but he does not need to accuse me of doing something wrong, or attempt to discredit my ministry, for even mentioning it. Good students of scripture can study various topics and decide for themselves without me or Hank telling them what they can or cannot study.] Pyramid methodology (that the great pyramid was built by divine inspiration, and its measurements and inner rooms can be used as a Prophetic time line, each inch representing the foretelling biblical events past and future. The great pyramid is called the bible in stone, revealing the divine plan of the ages. [In response to a question asked of me after a seminar I present the information about the pyramid as one option. Many fine Christians (and some cults) have suggested this in the past. I do not know, nor do I teach dogmatically, anything they accuse me of here.] Believes in the Bermuda triangle. [same answer as No.7] On web site, He practices not filing federal and state income taxes. [Read the answer on my web site for yourself. I love my country and believe everyone should obey the law and pay all taxes they owe. I file every form and pay every tax I am required to. If Hank is implying that I am breaking the law he should show me where I am wrong not give me a back handed slap like this.] Hank has spoken evil of me several times on his program, yet never once has he called me to verify the truth or given me a chance to defend myself. He owes me that much according to scripture. Hank has done much good for the cause of Christ and I wish him well but he has handled this situation improperly in my opinion. He needs to read the "E" in his own web site acrostic. "CRI is committed to the maxim; "In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, and in all things charity." The topics he blasts me for are not "essentials" nor is he right in his thinking about me. In Christ, Kent Hovind |

Dear Norrie, I apologize, and you are absolutely right- you cannot discredit a particular source unless what they have actually stated or presented is clearly in error of God's Word and that is confirmed by a few witnesses and not just one witness. In fact, sometimes this type of "slander" is absolutely baseless and not true, circulated only for the reason of tearing down a selected person or ministry- thus accomplishing the devil's work and spreading doubt, mistrust, etc. I felt the same way about Tommy Tenny, I read his book "The God Chasers" and got on his e-mail list, but someone told me that he believes in "Oneness" instead of in the Trinity, and my view of him and his ministry totally changed. If we have 'slandered' Chick Publications and if you are a member/subscriber of their flyer "The Battle Cry" and order their tracts, then there is absolutely no reason why you cannot continue to order their tracts and continue to use them! However, they have many materials that are 'confrontational' at best that argue a particular viewpoint based on what may or may not be 'sound' ground (or footing) for a particular viewpoint. Examples? If you go to their website, you will find all kinds of materials that are pro-KJV Onlyism, anti-Catholic, anti-Mason, etc, etc. What I meant to say about Chick Publications is that you must not base certain beliefs on their conclusions only; I suggest trying other sources first, seeking a sound and sober understanding of a topic before consulting Chick Publications. Thank you Norrie, and I apologize if I have created more 'doubt' for you about who you can trust in the realm of Christian resources. Blessings, Nolan |

Well, I have to admit that sometimes Chick does come on a bit strong, but then maybe some people need that in order to be reached. Not everybody is at the same place spiritually and some may need a rude awakening. There is no man who is 100percent right on all issues is all I'm saying. Just like CRI saying Copeland was wrong, what they said he said was wrong, but maybe I should have ASKED Copeland ministries themselves instead of taking their word because look what they did to Hovind. I've just kinda got scared to listen to anybody any more because they may be wrong and that's no way to be either. Even at your church, you may not 100percent agree w/everything they say. You just have to rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you. I know one thing tho, w/o someone to help me understand the scriptures, I'd have a hard time on my own-it's a good thing there are people who actually study the Bible and it's background and can fill you in on situations that were going on at the time because I'd have no clue otherwise in many situations. :) This place drives me crazy not being about to use certain symbols like percent and and-wahhhh!!!! |

Yes Norrie, We must be 'one of those people' who actually study the Bible and know it, inside and out! :) 2 Tim. 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;" Blessings, Nolan! |
