graceful I'm sorry I used the term verse. I never meant it in reference to theology. I meant a paragraph or phrase, I used a term I deal with daily and applied it to a secular meaning and that offended you and I'm never meant that. As for him suing I will give him the benefit of the doubt as that being the reason why he hasn't sued, but I personally think he knows he would not prevail in court. As for not mentioning scripture how do you take a person that is convoluting scripture and use scripture to prove they are wrong. Scripture is a statement of truth not an arguement against falsehoods. When a false teacher says "we have all authority" how do I or anyone else refute that with scripture that says "all authority was given to Jesus" or "we have authority to use the name of Jesus"? There is no scripture that says we have no authority in ourselves only what God makes available to us through the name of Jesus. Which is far different than saying we have ('all' being implied) authority. When a false teacher says Christ died for our physical healing therefore no Christian should ever get sick. Yet the Bible says if any are sick let them call for the elders. However there is no scripture that says yes Christians will get sick even though James 5:14 does imply it. And there are many examples of Christians being sick in the Bible. And the fact that we all died of something. Should that not be sufficient proof? When a false teacher says Adam gave Satan authority in the garden. When there is no mention of any authority transfer mentioned anywhere in the Bible connected to the fall in the garden how can anyone use scripture to refute it. Do you expect the Bible to say someday a false teacher will say there was an authority transfer in the garden hence know this, it is not true? When a false teacher says God had to sneak Jesus on this earth to regain control. Yet the scripture says the earth and all that in on it is the Lords. Do you expect the Bible to say I didn't have to sneak Jesus on to the earth or that God didn't have to regain control? When a fase teacher says Satan had the power of death yet in the book of Job we see God clearly telling Satan what he can and can not do. Do you expect to see a verse that says Satan does not have the power of death? When a false teacher says Jesus went to hell to seize power from Satan. When we clearly know Satan is not in hell but on earth seeking those he can devour. And also know that God controls Satan as seen in Job. Does my argument fall short since the Word does not say Satan ain't in hell. Your listening to what they say and it sounds good but your not thinking through the ramifications of what they say and how what they said effects the truth found in the Bible. EdB |

EdB, It seems that many arguments against WOF go too far in that they begin to appear as anti-faith. Faith in faith IS truly meaningless. I do see that faith in Christ is the important point, but it is not at all stressed in these arguments against WOF. Christ Jesus Himself stressed the dangers of “doubt”, never did He stress the dangers of too much faith in Him: Matthew 21 21So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. 22And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." Please do not be offended by what I have to say, as I am not defending WOF teachings. However, I do defend faith in Christ and the authority that He gave us. You asked: ”As for not mentioning scripture how do you take a person that is convoluting scripture and use scripture to prove they are wrong. Scripture is a statement of truth not an arguement against falsehoods. “ Since truth is the opposite of false, then the Word can be used to prove falsehoods. After all, don’t we use scripture to show that there is a trinity when the word trinity is not used in the bible? Also, as the US military entered Baghdad, there were arab news braodcasters that were saying that the US was not in Baghdad. Well, if those broadcasters had continued to lie, a couple days later they would have found the need to explain the US tanks that rolled by during their broadcast! Just continue to use scripture to tell the truth. Don’t worry about refuting every lie. More lies are continually needed to prop-up previous lies. However, the truth stands on its own. You asked: ”When a false teacher says "we have all authority" how do I or anyone else refute that with scripture that says "all authority was given to Jesus" or "we have authority to use the name of Jesus"? There is no scripture that says we have no authority in ourselves only what God makes available to us through the name of Jesus. Which is far different than saying we have ('all' being implied) authority.” I think you may have a misconception of the difference between “power” and “authority”: When a policeman has an arrest warant, does’nt he have “all” authority of the government to make that arrest? Because, if he is injured or chased off, then many more police will arrive. If they still do not have enough power to handle the arrest then more and more reinforcments are called in, so that whatever is necessary to make the arrest comes to bare. This is what defines “authority” and illistrates the difference between “power” and “authority”. You asked: ”When a false teacher says Adam gave Satan authority in the garden. When there is no mention of any authority transfer mentioned anywhere in the Bible connected to the fall in the garden how can anyone use scripture to refute it. Do you expect the Bible to say someday a false teacher will say there was an authority transfer in the garden hence know this, it is not true?” Then how do you reconcile these scriptures: Gen 1 28Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." ”When a false teacher says God had to sneak Jesus on this earth to regain control. ... Do you expect the Bible to say I didn't have to sneak Jesus on to the earth or that God didn't have to regain control?” 1 Corinthians 2 7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. EdB, I encourage you to put forward more scripture, after all, it is the only weapon of our armour. I also recognize that you are not one to blurt out words that you have not thought through. 2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, Ephesians 6 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[3] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. … 16above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; Pastor Glenn |

In this world all people are flesh and blood-contaminated by sin and redeemed by the blood of Jesus to blatantly say a way of believing in God is wrong because you dont agree is just as much evil as you are saying against the people you feel are preaching evil things. Maybe you are the one preaching evil ways. Jesus had 12 men following and added 70 or more to his team. Each one had a different life before Him and a different preaching style after Him and I see no where in scripture said Jesus rebuked one because of how they preached the gospel to the world.

imf, to my knowledge Jesus is not on record as being especially concerned about the personal style of the messenger of the Gospel, but He did tend to be more than a little fussy about the content of the message. --Hank
5 | Why should I take your word for it? | Bible general Archive 1 | lmf | 82342
Then do you see how who I am, the life I have lived, and how Jesus effects me would color my faith and how I would present it to you. Not neccesarily making me an evil money grubbing monster just a humanbeing. If you do then I feel it is better to accept that God could use you to bring me something I need or me to bless you without us blindly following without taking the time to find out the truth in the bible. The word of God written through the holy spirit is the only truth we are supposed to believe but we can help each other by sharing our faith. In order to truly have respect for your word I need to know who you are and on whay you base your faith. I can just accept your opinion nor do I expect you to accept mine in a moments time.

9 | Hank, Do you believe he's with God? | Bible general Archive 1 | lmf | 82380
Thankyou for answering me. I find it very sad when someone so young dies. It just seems like the world is missing out on someone special and the message God had wanted them to deliver. You must miss him every day.

"The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart; And devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from evil," Is 57:1 imf, this Scripture suggests (to me) that sometimes death is a means of God's Divine protection to keep His children from evil. mommapbs |
