Turkish, I have read everyone's response on this thread and I believe in my heart that even though scripture does not convey on this issue specifically there is an answer. First our flesh body is what we are stuck with. What does sin mean, doesn't the word Christian is to be Christ like? Our goal is always be Christ like. Here are some meanings for the word (sin) in the Greek in the NT. NT:264 hamartano (ham-ar-tan'-o); perhaps from NT:1 (as a negative particle) and the base of NT:3313; properly, to miss the mark (and so not share in the prize), i.e. (figuratively) to err, especially (morally) to sin: KJV - for your faults, offend, sin, trespass. NT:265 hamartema (ham-ar'-tay-mah); from NT:264; a sin (properly concrete): KJV - sin. NT:266 hamartia (ham-ar-tee'-ah); from NT:264; a sin (properly abstract): KJV - offence, sin (-ful). This is vague in the fact that it does not specify regarding masturbation. But bear in mind that I think everyone will agree that God has given us common sense in this life. In that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor 15:50 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. KJV Corruption will not inherit incorruption. Meaning our flesh and blood is corrupt. And if we are all changed in a twinkling of a eye at the last trump, and corruptible becomes incorruptible. 1 Cor 15:52-53 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. KJV What was Paul talking about in 1 Cor.? Yes we have this sexual desire, and (common sense) will tell you that, isn't it better to masturbate than to go out somewhere and find someone or if you are married to find someone else to relieve yourselves. 1 Cor 7:9 9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. KJV NT:4448 ( burn) puroo (poo-ro'-o); from NT:4442; to kindle, i.e. (passively) to be ignited, glow (literally), be refined (by implication), or (figuratively) to be inflamed (with anger, grief, lust): KJV - burn, fiery, be on fire, try. NT:4442 pur (poor); a primary word; "fire" (literally or figuratively, specifically, lightning): KJV - fiery, fire. I believe wholeheartedly that masturbation is not sin and that you men on this forum know that if this does not take place from time to time, then there is a problem, and you know what I mean. Let's get real here! SERENETIME |

SERENETIME- I can't figure out what the big question is here. God made man and woman to complement each other. He also states it is better to marry than to burn (with passion). There is nothing saying anything that solo sex is alright or an alternative. It also gives guidelines for not having sex with your spouse. There are cravings the body has and if let loose can gain control. The Lord always leaves a way out - usually prayer and turning to him. Sexual pleasure was made for one thing - to bring a man and wife closer together and for propagation. That is the ONLY place sex is acceptable. And yes, the bible says it is sin, not specifically, but it doesn't have too. Not for someone who truly wants to follow the Lord's will and not look for a way out of it. Debbie |

glory777, I dislike to have to keep this subject going, but like I said before let's get real to all men! If this does not take place , the it becomes very uncomfortable and they have to release someway. Gee, how does this happen? Masturbation! I know! I'm very tired of men avoiding this subject. Yes our flesh is weak! That's all the more reason is to release this way rather go out and sex with someone outside marriage. If you're married, then you don't have to burn. Give me a break, Paul had to do some releasing, don't you agree? The Father gave us common sense. SERENETIME | ||||||

Hi, SERENE! Are you saying: "people of the world, join in, join in... love train..." (Truly I can't remember the exact words, it's an old song...) Could your theory not also be applicable to the needy? I mean those who have not take from those who have too much and as long as you leave them with some it is not a sin; after all, people need to eat, and dress well, and by things... otherwise, the mind and heart will grow cold and dark from experiencing long periods of financial hardships! When Scripture speaks of changing the old nature (flesh) to the new nature (spirit) and it cites the differences, which group demonstrates that we are in the Spirit? Which particular phrase tells us that we are above lower life forms that simply act on primal instincts?: For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:17-23) ...faithfulness and self-control... over and over we know, through personal or second party expirience, that those who satisfy their sinful nature do not even know the meaning of faithfulness and self-control! Convesely, those who nourish their spiritual nature are loyal and obedient to God, and their struggle is against the sinful nature not against the Spirit! Denial of sin does not make it go away... the wages for sin is still death! (Romans 6:23) God Bless! Angel |
