1 | God is a spirit? Animals have spirits? | Bible general Archive 1 | chynna | 38904
I am a Christian and I believe very strongly that animals have spirit. I base this on several things in the Bible. In Genesis there are only two things that God created. Animals and Man. When God created Adam and Eve and the animals they were all vegetarians and neither man or the animals were subject to death. In Genesis 9:5 it states, "And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each man, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of his fellow man." There are numerous passages throughout the Bible. Even Jesus says in Matthew (?) that God,His Father is aware of every death, even that of a sparrow. God included the animals in His covenant with Noah. Romans 8:19(KJV) says that all of creation waits in eager expectation for Christs return Take a look at Revelation 4:7 where the living creatures were glorifying God. The twenty four elders said, "...You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." Now look at Revelation 5:13, "Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever." There are many more passages... |

2 | God is a spirit? Animals have spirits? | Bible general Archive 1 | Robert Nicholson | 38909
After the flood there was a change made by God between man and animal. He told Noah "the fear of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth on the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things" Gen 9:2-3 V.4 prohibits cannibelism. "flesh with the life thereof" this refers to humans who are living souls. If we choose to not eat meat which God has provided, that is our personal choice. However, eating meat from animals is not prohibited by the Bible. Peace |

I don't disagree with that. My point was that God's original intention when He first created man and animal were that we were vegetarian. Yes, this changed. God allows us to eat meat now. Personally, I don't, but to each their own. I feel closer to God taking care of His creations rather than destroying them.

chynna Using your logic we would have to conclude carrots are not God's creation. You say you feel closer to God taking care of His crations. If you eat carrots then they must not be God's creations. Oh you say they don't have feelings, how do you know? We know plants react to sunlight, cold, drought, bug attacks, and even being cut or pulled. God created things for man's use. He said kill and eat. Why do we want to deny that? EdB |
