Greetings EdB! I was glad to read your post this AM as well as the one from Reformer Joe. I did read the posts and while I agree that we should never misrepresent another individual, in the middle of the night I wondered why no one rose to Charles Stanley's defense? Should we judge his theology from snippets of quotes too? Since I really don't know either theologian, I am not in a position to speculate on what prompted any of these remarks. I prefer to go to God and ask Him to reveal to me what I need to know. This is what makes His Word so precious - it is personal. How easy it is to see the speck in another's eye while ignoring the plank in our own! Thank you for your apology as well as your declared intent to bear witness to the truth. I look forward to reading your posts on the forum as well as those of others. We are ALL needed here! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Mommapbs: The quotes attributed to Charles Stanley do indeed reflect his views. If he had read the post, I have no doubt that he would have nodded his head and said, "Yes, that's what I believe the Bible teaches." So, while I disagree with Charles Stanley on this important issue, his point of view was well-represented by the quotes given by Zach. --Joe! |
