1 | John MacArthur an antinomian?!? | Bible general Archive 1 | Mommapbs | 38443 | ||
Greetings EdB! I was glad to read your post this AM as well as the one from Reformer Joe. I did read the posts and while I agree that we should never misrepresent another individual, in the middle of the night I wondered why no one rose to Charles Stanley's defense? Should we judge his theology from snippets of quotes too? Since I really don't know either theologian, I am not in a position to speculate on what prompted any of these remarks. I prefer to go to God and ask Him to reveal to me what I need to know. This is what makes His Word so precious - it is personal. How easy it is to see the speck in another's eye while ignoring the plank in our own! Thank you for your apology as well as your declared intent to bear witness to the truth. I look forward to reading your posts on the forum as well as those of others. We are ALL needed here! Blessings, Mommapbs |

Mommapbs I can not answer for Charles Stanley as I do not read him therefore I do not know what his theology is. Your right no one should judge another's theology from some snipets of quotes. However they do often give a good idea of the direction the person is walking. However this was not the issue in this case. The issue was the “misquote” that was contributed to MacArthur. My intent and my action was to set the record straight. The issue wasn't a speck in someone's eye nor the plank in mine. The issue was an untruth was quoted and after repeated attempts to correct the mistake the person firmly stood on his mistake. At that point I got involved in the situation again not to attack anyone but to bring the truth to light. As I said before I may have done it with a little too much zeal for which I have regret and have apologized for. I understand and appreciate you piety of seeking only God for your information. However while I do enjoy reading others to see what God has revealed to them and that in no way lessens or effects what God reveals to me. In fact the whole idea of the church was so each of us could encourage, exhort, and edify each other in the faith. Mommapbs I said it before and I will say it again while I appreciate your intervention into this, I question some of the things you imply. How easy it is to see the speck in another's eye while ignoring the plank in our own! In the same of love of Jesus as you came to me and even more. EdB |

Greeting again EdB! You wrote: "I question some of the things you imply." in reference to my observation: How easy it is to see the speck in another's eye while ignoring the plank in our own! Please do not misunderstand me - the ointment I apply to myself is a salve to be recognized and shared. You are free to use it as needed. I cannnot assess YOUR need however, nor was that my intent of the observation. I think the Holy Spirit is perfectly capable of performing HIS work without MY interference! Hope this clears the air! Far be it for me to judge, lest I be judged! In Him who is our bond of Peace and Love! Mommopbs |
