1 | Question for you Both? | Bible general Archive 1 | Bro. Tom | 13552
Dearest Brother, Could you please explain to me what Hebrews5:-9 means to you? (Though he were a Son yet he learned obedience by the things which he suffered, And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. 1st- You can't teach GOD obedience,2nd- You can't make GOD suffer. The scripture say's "being made perfect, he became" (not always was)If we read Hebrews2:7-10 it back's up what I am saying "made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death" "to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings" You can not make GOD suffer. I am not trying to take nothing away from GOD or Jesus(but there is a father and a son)it's just awesome the possibilites of a man with GOD are endless. If we read the 2nd Chapter of Acts we find that Jesus was a man approved of GOD(remember "this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased"Matthew17:5)It also talks about how GOD raised Jesus up(once again that's two)And to top it off it says "that GOD hath made that same Jesus"(GOD made Jesus). Now, back to Jesus being a man born with the same type of flesh as you and I (refer to 1Cornithians15:39 one kind of flesh of men) now no one wants to see this because it means you will have to measure up to the man Jesus. We can be just like Jesus if we allow GOD to take up his abode in us as Jesus did. And, come to the realization that we can be made perfect too if if we allow GOD to lead and guide us in everything. Read Matthew5:48 " Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.(In my bible this is in red print, Jesus very words telling me to be perfect).Looking at your reference to to Colossians2:9 let us read this again starting at vs.1 paying particular attention to vs.2,3,8 and then 9. In reference to your comment about being a "false teacher", this is not something you want to get into a habit of doing. Unless, GOD tell's you a certain individual is a "false teacher" , and I know GOD did not tell you that did he? You did ask him didn't you? You might want to read Hebrews13:2(GOD taught me along time ago you have to be careful of what you say). Proverbs21:23 Don't be so quick to judge the words I speak. I speak these words, I speak because I see Jesus and know the truth! Show me where in the scripture where it says Jesus was GOD and I'll stop speaking like this. But, I invite you to search the scriptures(in them are life, Jesus said I give you life more abundantly) in several places in the bible it tells us Jesus was a man. Grace be with you my brothers, Bro. Tom |

Greetings Bro. Tom! The reason people are upset with your posts is that you are denying an essential truth of Scripture, that Jesus is God incarnate. You said at the end of your last post, "Show me where in the scripture where it says Jesus was GOD and I'll stop speaking like this." Okay, here goes. Read Titus 2:13 "while we wait for the blessed hopeāthe glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ," (NIV) Notice what the verse says! Jesus is both our God and Savior. If you need any more, re-read Nolan's post. In Christ, Tim Moran |

Bro. Tim, Greetings,Is it possible that this is speaking of two(2) --our great GOD and --Savior (which is Jesus Christ) I am interested in your interpretation. I never made a post to challenge any one, just to share with others what GOD has showed me he can do with a man. Amen, Bro. Tom |

4 | Question for you Both? | Bible general Archive 1 | Morant61 | 13646
Greetings Bro. Tom! Thanks for the response! In answer to your question, there is no possiblity that Titus 2:13 is refering to two individuals. For several reasons: 1) Greek Grammar: There is an established rule in Greek grammar called the Granville Sharp rule. It says, "When the copulative 'kai' connects two nouns of the same case, if the article 'ho' or any of tis cases precedes the first of the said nouns or participles, and is not repeated before the second noun or participle, the latter always relates to the same person that is expressed or described by the first noun or participle; i.e., it denotes a farther description of the first-named person." (Dana and Mantey's, "A Manual Grammar of the Greek New Testament," p. 147.) This is exactly the case in Tit. 2:13, 2 Pet. 1:1, and 2 Pet. 1:11, all of which call Jesus God. The actual Greek text for this phrase reads: "of the Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ." 2) The context: The noun describing the appearing is singular, not plural. The pronoun in v. 14, which continue the point, is singular. There is nothing in this passage that is plural, other than the participle translate, "while we are waiting...". Without trying to be rude, you now have a choice to make. Do you accept what God has clearly said in His Word, or do you accept what you think God told you? The test of obedience for a Christian is whether or not we bring our thoughts and beliefs into harmony with God's Word. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
