1 | The Red Writing | Rev 1:1 | lionheart | 141869
Hello brother,if it's sister no insult intended. I will presume you are refering to the verses that are printed in red in the Gospels. If not please set me straight. Back when I was a kid we had no red letter addition bibles. It was all black letters. It's my impression that when they started printing the red letter edititon bibles it was to identify the words spoke by Jesus. The gospels do teach that we are saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Revelation 7:13,14 I believe while it speaks of those who are saved out of the great tribulation,it talks about also the cleansing power of His blood. 1 Jn 1:7,9 When I read these verses I like to think,it keeps on cleansing. What Jesus did was a one time thing. He died for every sin I've ever commmitted and ever will commit. Therfore the phrase it keeps on cleansing. ICor 1:18 tells us that the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are saved and to those being saved its the power of God.Thats huge! Check out 1 Cor 2:14. You can see these things because you are a born again son of God and it is(Col 1:27) Christ in you. When I think about that it Absolutly blows me away. My friend we are able to the things of God because we are his sons. Whether the words Jesus spoke in the gospels are printed in red or black they dont add or take anything away from what we read in Rev 7:13,14. If it helps to keep you closer to God and make you stronger outstanding. Make sure you understand 2 Peter 1:21,22 and your doing 2 Timothy 2:15. Doc, Kalos,Ray, help me out here if I'm missing something here. I dont wanna be pushing anyone away or confuse them. tduplechain Godbless you. Your brother in Christ, lionheart |

Indeed I am referring to the red writing, The writer could have put it in blue, green, yellow and it would have still been notice apart from the black writing, or he could have said this is jesus talking, But by putting it in red that signifies his blood.Jesus also spoke through the profits in the old testiment its all still in black. The testimony that jesus gave us is so powerful it stands out from everything in the bible. God Bless you. P.S Doc I would love to here your wisdom on this. |

All Scripture is equally inspired. If you have a red-letter Bible (in which the words of Jesus are printed in red ink), you need to know that the words in black letters are as much the inspired Word of God as the words in red letters.
4 | Christ Jesus testimony / Red writing | Rev 1:1 | tduplechain | 141897
I agree that the whole bible is inspired by god, but to make every word equal to jesus christ testimony no way.Jesus was with god before he came to the earth. John the baptist testified in the gospel of john 3:31 that what comes from above is above all, for he whom God has sent speaks the words of God.Jesus said in John 5:39 you search the scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life it is these that testify about me and you are unwilling to come to me so that you may have life, I do not recieve glory from men.

What is your question? John 1:1-5 (NASB) 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. |

7 | Christ Jesus testimony / Red writing | Rev 1:1 | Hank | 141911
Being more than willing to agree wholeheartedly that the "red writing" are words that came from God, I would submit that the "black writing" from Geneis to Revelation also came from God in no less measure than the "red writing" did. Do you agree? Why or why not? --Hank
8 | Christ Jesus testimony / Red writing | Rev 1:1 | tduplechain | 141947

The uninspired teachings of Paul? NASB 1 Corinthians 7:12 But to the rest I say, not the Lord, that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he must not divorce her. AMPLIFIED 1 Corinthians 7:12 To the rest I declare--I, not the Lord [for Jesus did not discuss this]--that if any brother has a wife who does not believe [in Christ] and she consents to live with him, he should not leave or divorce her. '(1 Cor. 7:12) In vv. 1-12 the contrast is not between inspired teaching and uninspired teaching, as some have supposed. In vv. 10-11 Paul is repeating in substance something already taught by the Lord; but in v. 12 he is dealing with a situation not covered by our Lord's teaching. Instead of disclaiming inspiration for what he writes in v. 12, the apostle is actually claiming for his own words here the same authority as for the words of Christ Himself" (note at 1 Cor 7:12, New Scofield Reference Bible, Oxford, 1967). * * * * * * * * * * * * "Now that was Paul’s estimate of the situation. God didn’t tell him that..." --Frederick Price ____________________ 'Another case in point is that God allowed affliction to come upon Paul, not answering his prayer for deliverance, so that Paul would not become too high minded as a result of the visions and revelations he had (2 Corinthians 12:7-10). [Frederick] Price’s response to this passage, which is typical of the [Word of Faith] movement, is: “Now that was Paul’s estimate of the situation. God didn’t tell him that He gave him that to keep him humble, but Paul was a man who was prone to brag and boast. Therefore he took it upon himself to believe all of this that was coming upon him was going to help him to stay humble.”[3] 'In this statement we find a disturbing lack of concern for the authority of the inspired authors of Scripture. There is nothing within the context of this passage to qualify this statement of Paul’s as being merely his own, possibly errant, opinion. Paul makes the statement with the full authority that, by virtue of inspiration, was rightfully his. If by our human rationalizing that Paul was one prone to boast (which finds no basis in Scripture), we have the freedom to dismiss his declaration in [2 Corinthians] verse 7 as being misguided, then we may also dismiss anything else he said that does not fit into our doctrinal scheme. Once this happens, our basis of trust in the Scripture becomes effectively undermined. However, we find that Paul derived this estimate of the situation from the Lord’s answer to his prayers: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness” (verse 9)' (http://www.equip.org/free/DH018.htm). |
