Hi, I see the 144K in Revelation 14 as the Church because: v.3 - these souls are the "redeemed from the earth." Redemption came only after the Gospel (death, burial, and resurrection of Christ), which is the foundation of the Church Age/Grace Dispensation. v.4 - these souls are "virgins" meaning that these are ones that avoid spiritual adultery, false and seducing doctrines, and anything else that oppose the Gospel. I see this as a statement to describe the Church because, although the Jews had the Law breakers and idolatry to deal with, the Church gravely deals with false religions, false doctrines, and heresies. Not to participate in these - staying spiritually pure - at a time when many are compromising the Gospel, is to be a virgin spiritually. v.4 also states that "they follow the Lamb withersoever He goeth" meaning that these souls are lead by the Word and His spirit. It is in the Church age where souls are lead by Jesus Christ Who is the Word, which is spirit and life (John 6:63). I don't believe that the 144K is a concrete number (like there will only be 144K Jews going to God's everlasting Kingdom). I believe it is a reference to God's number system (for example, like 7 is the number for perfection?). I don't know the number system that well, but I know that each number has its own significance to the Kingdom of God. Thanks for your response, WalkingTalkingBible |

The Church will be in the millions, not 144 thousand. The 144,000 is 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel. The Bible states this quite plainly. How can you say that 144,000 is not a concrete number? Janae |
