1 | How do we get saved, by baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | Tamara Brewington | 203712
What do you believe is the truth about how to get saved, do you believe that it is necessary to get baptized to get saved, or do you believe that salvation is granted as soon as you believe; base your answer on your assessment of Galatians 5:4, Romans 11:2,3, I Peter 1:4,5, Romans 8:37-39?
2 | How do we get saved, by baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | remorse2 | 203713
Baptizim of the believer is because he/she would like to make an outward show of an inward comitment. The thief on the cross was not baptized yet he went to paradise. That is sufficient proof for baptisim not being necessary for salvation. We baptize out of obedience. The same reason we take comunion. It is for obedience. A new believer has turned from the old sinful life and has started a new life. They show the world this decision when they are Baptized. I believe that you get saved by repenting and believing. After all that is what Jesus said to do. Yet there was no work I did that earned me a spot in heaven. To the unbeliever I say repent and believe. To the believer I say you did nothing to earn salvation. God chose you out of His Grace. |

3 | How do we get saved, by baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | Tamara Brewington | 203714
Good answer I believe this as well, however my concern was in how to reconcile apparently conflicting scriptures;Galatians 5:4, Romans 11:2,3, I Peter 1:4,5, Romans 8:37,38, about the requirments of salvation since I am encountering folks who believe in a false doctrine based on using only one set of scriptures and not all of scripture. Feel like giving a go at reconciling these scriptures?
4 | How do we get saved, by baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | remorse2 | 203728
The book of Galatians tells us to stop trying to be justified by law. Romans 11:1-6 Tells us it is grace that brought us into a saving knowledge of Christ 1Peter 1:2-3 Shows us it was through his mercy and grace that we have a reward in Heaven Romans 8:37-38 is the assurance that even though you are lead to be slaughtered God will not forsake you. To say that these scriptures support opposing arguments is tough. I would say these scriptures support different aspects of the Soverign Grace of our Lord. To sum up. Quit trying to be justified by law Grace is what saved you. Heaven is your reward. Nothing will seperate Gods hand upon you. |

5 | Do we get saved by Baptism? | 1 Pet 3:21 | Tamara Brewington | 203731
Interesting view that veiwing these scriptures as opposing arguments is tough, but you did not reconcile the scriptures in question. I already agree that salvation is by faith alone, by grace alone. Are these really different aspects of God's grace, or are they irreconcilable?
