1 | Did i say you should call me GOD?' | Deut 17:15 | folawise | 130112
Bradk, Thank you. I was born into a devout Christian home. My Father a baptist deacon, my mother an evagelist. I gave my life to Christ in my high school.I love to study and i am full of questions. Along the line, I did not find reasonable answers to my questions in the bible. Naturally i am not an easily fooled person. In all that i do I always look for proofs. Spiritually i always want to be sure God is there. Reasonably, I must be able to explain myself and also make others see beyond reasonable doubt. Because i believe the power to reason is given to man and we will give account of how it is being used. I also believe God will make the issue of our salvation and our eternity with Him to be very clear and not vague so no man will be able to say it is not evident. The bible if it must be infallible must be able to stand the test of time. Spiritually, physically and scientifically. To these i have doubt. I am not a muslim yet. I have been studying their book and it makes much sense to me. Now i have come to a crossroad and i need proofs that truly the bible is the infallible word of God. One thing you must know is that i love the Lord. I love Jesus Christ. I believe he is coming back. I don't want him to come and be dissapointed in me. And say that: 'Did i say you should call me GOD?'

folawise: Do you suppose it would help if you selected a couple or so of your questions to which you feel the Bible has not yielded you reasonable answers and pose them to the Forum? There are a number of seasoned and well-grounded Christian men and women on this Forum who may be able to help you. But a caveat needs to be inserted here. They will give you what the word of God, the Bible, says; but they will not give you what the Koran says. This is a study Bible Forum and not a comparative course in world religions. ...... Additionally, I'd like to echo and reemphasize BradK's recommendation of Josh McDowell's "The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict." This is a fine book and, judging from your posts, it appears to me that you well may be one of the persons for whom this book was expressly written. ....... Finally, it's rather puzzling that you, who "gave my life to Christ in high school" and "love Jesus Christ" would be toying around with Islam, a pagan religion. Christianity and Islam are not mutually compatible: you cannot be a Muslim Christian and more than you can be Christian Muslim. (see Acts 4:12 and John 14:6). If you are a Christian who has doubts, seek counsel through much prayer, diligent study of Scripture, and the communion of Christian saints. You will not find neither truth nor salvation in paganism. --Hank
3 | which of the communion of the saints? | Deut 17:15 | folawise | 130859
Dear Hank, I try not to be myopic. He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world. It will be wrong for you to conclude on an issue just because you are told . You should always look out out for proof. And confirm the truth. Seek and hold on to that which is true. Have you confirmed of a truth that the koran is a book of paganism. If you have read it and then draw that conclusion, your conclusion will be authentic, right now it is just an opinion. I respect it anyhow. But i like to authentically proof them wrong and stand tall for Christ. Not standing with a bag of questions hanging over my head. So many things are hapening out there and you must not sit down in your little corner believing that all is well. If you are a father your kids will begin to ask questions. Have you taken your time to study the origin of the bible. Who put the books together and when. Or do you think that is not relevant to your salvation. In as much as we all believe it did not drop from heaven we don't bother to find out how we came about it. You shouldn't be overconfident of your self. For the scriptures says.... Let him that thinketh he stands take heed lest he falls. Have you also realised that in the communion of the saints there are diversity in beliefs and doctrines so which of the communion of the saints should i seek conusel? I will read the materials you suggested to me and visit those sites. thank you very much.

Folawise: It's good to hear that you plan to examine "The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell. Let us know whether you found it helpful. I won't comment on the rest of your question/note, but I do wish you well. --Hank
