2 | Can we lose our righteousness? | Heb 10:14 | 2ndSamuel22 | 54247
Dear McGracer, Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we are sanctified, set apart for God's use. Does that mean we can go about our lives doing what we want, living in the sins of our "old man"? No. We must live our lives as Christ. Otherwise, it is not saving faith(James 2:17-19). This is not to be confused with "salvation by works", for those who think it is what we do that "earns" us our salvation. Now, does that mean that if we, as humans, mess up and fail Him(as we are so good at doing), He will cast us from His sight? No. Because, as Galatians 2:20 says, it is not I, but Christ who lives in me, "and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God." And again, Colossians 3:3, "For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." Those who accept the free gift of the grace of God through Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and give their lives to Him, He will "give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand."(John 10:28-29 NASB) God is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect!! 2nd Samuel 22 |

3 | Do you accept defeat too? | Heb 10:14 | Gal5:16 | 108093
2 Samuel 22: Thank you for your login id. I read (or understood) that chapter for the first time. Do you accept defeat too? The passage that is your creed paints an entirely different picture. "For I have kept the ways of the Lord. I have not done evil by turning from his decrees. I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.", and later "It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect" Keep in mind that 2 Samuel 22 is after 2 Samuel 12. David repented, and trusted God to produce righteousness in him. |
