You have the right to remain silent... Careful, Hank. Anything you post in this thread can be used against you. You may even be subjected to cross-examination. Any person on the other side of the debate may question your personal life to determine your character and whether you practice what you preach. --kalos ******************** Welcome to StudyBibleForum.com, where one guess is as good as another. |

Kalos, I suspect that I am the subject of this post to Hank - I'm sad to think that we are on opposite "sides" of anything. All I asked of you was for an example of how God influences your life in specific ways through His Word; I am sorry if my evangelical choice of word (testimony) offended you. It is not I who "cross-examines you", but according to God's Word, you should be prepared to give an answer when asked. . . my question is sincere. "but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;" 1 Peter 3:15 What is so "wrong" with my question? As believers shouldn't it be natural to talk about what the Lord is doing in our lives? "Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who esteem His name." Mal 3:16 Frankly, I'd much rather hear where you are today with the Lord than your salvation story of coming to faith in Him. I wonder how you might respond to the same question from one not in the "family." Hopefully, with more gentleness and respect than you have had on this thread. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding Kalos, but I believe, (yes, this is my opinion) based upon what I read in God's Word, that my request of you is reasonable. Might you re-think your closing statement about the Forum? What "seasoning" are you using here? (I've already provided a Scripture that covers that.) mommapbs |

Mommapbs: I have wronged you and I am truly sorry. Please accept my apology. I was wrong to answer you so harshly. You deserve my respect and courtesy. I went too far in my postings to you. There is no excuse for it. I've followed your postings since you first joined the forum. I agree with you far, far more than I disagree. I know from your long participation in this forum that you are a committed Christian, a person of character and integrity. I deeply regret the offense I've given you. I would be happy to answer your question about what God is currently doing in my life. But it will have to wait a few hours, at least. I'm getting ready to go to Wednesday night prayer meeting/Bible study at my church. So I'll get back to you later. Sincerely, kalos (a.k.a. John) |

Thank you Kalos, it is with tears that I read your post, for it deeply troubles me when I am at "odds" with another believer. Thank you for your participation in the ministry of reconciliation to me. Please forgive me of my critical spirit. Do go in peace to your time of prayer and study - how I wish I had the same opportunity at my church. Do pray for the Forum, that we would all seek to grow in the knowledge of Him who loved us and gave Himself up for us. I see Christ in you; thank you for letting Him shine here. Each of us is an "irreplaceable piece of the human mosaic" (Henri Nouwen) many of which are in this living organism called the body of Christ which meets together on this site. In Christ's love, mommapbs (aka trish) |
