1 | Only Gospels as Authority? | 2 Tim 3:16 | seekingtruth | 92225
I've been asked a number of moral questions recently (specifically about homosexuality) and was told to only use the Gospels as support. The logic was that the "letters" may be colored by the views of the "author" (even admitting that the true Author was God, it was suggested that the human author's views would have gotten in there). Any suggestions on how to respond?

3 | Gospel Support? | 2 Tim 3:16 | seekingtruth | 92233
I know this, but to use this answer, I'm using non-gospel quotations to support the use of non-gospel quotations. I don't know where this "only Gospels are authority" thing comes from, maybe it shouldn't stump me - there's got to be a rational response out there that can answer this... I just don't know it.

Since we only use the Scripture, even to non-gospel quotations, at times ... your use of "non-gospel quotations to support the use of non-gospel quotations" doesn't apply. |
