AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God's will, both publicly and privately--behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; |
Bible Question: I've been asked a number of moral questions recently (specifically about homosexuality) and was told to only use the Gospels as support. The logic was that the "letters" may be colored by the views of the "author" (even admitting that the true Author was God, it was suggested that the human author's views would have gotten in there). Any suggestions on how to respond? |
Bible Answer: 2 Timothy 3 16All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. Not my word but God's Word |
