1 | 2Tim 2:15 Study dispensationally? | 2 Tim 2:15 | Ken John | 108937
2Timothy 2:15 is a verse I paid little attention to particularly the last part "rightly dividing the word of truth" until recently when I started reviewing my bible study method. Why is it that so many ignore the fact that one needs to study dispensationally, dividing the Word correctly? Are we being disobedient by not doing so?

Greetings Ken John, I do not believe that 2 Timothy 2:15 includes the meaning that one must study the Word of God 'dispensationally.' I do not believe that this is correct. First of all, I do not believe that you must know anything at all of "dispensation" before you become a master handler of the Word of God. What 2 Timothy 2:15 does mean is that by diligently studying and reading the Word of God every day, we will begin to correctly analyze, interpret and present the message in the Word of God in a way that reflects the truth of the message. And in that way will we become masters at apologetics and be able to refute all of the inane interpretations that we frequently come up against. Blessings to you, Makarios |

Thank you Makarios for your guidance. You will appreciate that I love God's Word and want to learn all I can at three score and ten. Having worked hard for many years to provide for my family I did not have much free time to study. Now that I have retired I want to make up for lost ground so thank you for helping me. Blessings, KJ |
