1 | Will there be a partial rapture? | 1 Thess 4:17 | Searcher56 | 154008 | ||
Correction ... Counting on the Torah for salvation is worthless ... Phil 3:3 for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh, Phil 3:4 although I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more: Phil 3:5 circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee; Phil 3:6 as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, found blameless. Phil 3:7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. |

For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. Romans 3:28 (ESV) Searcher: You write "Counting on the Torah for salvation is worthless". When you put it that way I must reply with a hearty AMEN! Romans 4:2-3 (ESV) For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. [3] For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness." Romans 3:27-31 (ESV) Then what becomes of our boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No, but by the law of faith. [28] For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law. [29] Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, [30] since God is one. He will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. [31] Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law. Grace to you, Kalos |
