The old system was destroyed in 70 AD when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and old temple sacrificial system. That is what Matt 24 is all about and also why we see the New Jerusalem, the Church, decended in Revelation 21 after the old Jerusalem was destroyed by fire. That was the microcosim, the rest until the Second Coming is the working out of the Macrocosim. Revelations says what is revealed will happen "soon" Rev 22:10-12,20 and Rev 1:1-3. In the original Greek, "soon" means "soon." Soon was 70 AD. The generation that was not to pass away before the fulfillment of Matt 23:36 and 24:34 would take the 35-40 tears up to 70 AD from 30-35 AD when Jesus was making His prophecy. Emmaus |
