Hi Brad: Luke 19:15 "When he returned, after receiving the kingdom, he ordered that these slaves, to whom he had given the money, be called to him so that he might know what business they had done. I am also a business owner. God wants us to use his Gifts and prosper! As a fellow business owner I am sure there are plenty of people telling you how to run your business, right? I know I do. It seems almost all of these people are folks who do not have or run a business of their own. I usually just smile and nod politely. I never take advice from someone unless they are far more successful than I am. Who would be more successful than God? Look how he blessed Job. Job 1:3 His possessions also were 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female donkeys, and very many servants; and that man was the greatest of all the men of the east Our business is very successful; it is at the point where I own a business, not a job. I will personally testify God has had a major impact on my business, without his guidance and willingness to accept my burden I would be lost. No, I am not in the God business, I am in manufacturing. My point in starting this conversation is to foster an appreciation for the Gifts we receive from God and Gods interests in ALL of our affairs earthly as well as Heavenly. And Job testified. Job 1:21 And said, Naked (without possessions) came I [into this world] from my mother's womb, and naked (without possessions) shall I depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed (praised and magnified in worship) be the name of the Lord! There are some who take a vow of poverty and devote their lives to God. There are plenty of people also devoted to spreading Gods word who are far from poverty. (God’s product) We have over 100 employees. Some are paid very well and others are paid not so well. Yet all of them contribute to making our product. The point is everything we have and will have is a GIFT from God. Even the wicked receive from God if he so wills. May we continue to love and grow in our faith! BBQ |

Dear Barb, Some of the confusion in this series of posts is, at least in my case due to your original post (as well as the post where you quoted Mr. Copeland). I would agree with you, that we need “…an appreciation for the Gifts we receive from God and Gods interests in ALL of our affairs earthly as well as Heavenly.” I also agree with your statement that “…everything we have and will have is a GIFT from God. Even the wicked receive from God if he so wills.” But your original post was titled “Show me the Money”, and ended with you saying “What is God’s word for assuring us of abundance on this earth?” God in NO WAY assures us of material abundance on this earth. Just think of the countless missionaries who have sacrificed their lives, both monetarily and literally, for God. And how about, as someone else mentioned, the many Christians who are persecuted, many of whom even end up without a home, or worse, their lives? If you have been blessed with financial wealth, praise The Lord! But that does not mean that everyone will be blessed the way you have been. Ocelot |
