1 | Did Cain marry one of his sisters? | Eph 5:25 | tessie | 165392
No offense intended, but it would seem the question "Why does that matter to you?" should be addressed. As David wrote, it seems best that "Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me."(Ps 131:2) A greatly important spiritual question is who have WE married? Are we part of the Bride of Christ? (Rev 21:9) Have we made Him our Bridegroom and all things besides? |

no offense taken, but it would seem the question "why do you stray from the direct question?" I deal with many non-believers and wanted to see if anyone else had a different answer and so far they have not. |

3 | Did Cain marry one of his sisters? | Eph 5:25 | tessie | 165581
The direct question, as you call it, is nearly always a bogus question, meant to infer that the Bible has unanswerable loopholes. I'm surprised if you haven't seen that in your dealings with the many non-believers. In addition, the answer would make no real difference to anyone in the end, the only outcome being that either he married his sister, which thing many find quite shocking and distasteful, or he married someone else's sister (relative) and in that case, Adam and Eve would not have been the only humans on earth, would they? In other words, the question is almost always meant to entangle the answerer in a morass of supposition and thereby avoid the question which would be far more healthy for the asker, which being, what is your status with God? |
