1 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | ebrain | 166507
Ephesians 1:7, refers to sins that can be forgiven, and therefore cannot refer to the sin which is unforgivable. The explanation is quite simple, you will note that the first two words are "In Him", the only way in which you are considered by God to be in Him is as a result of your having believed what the Holy Spirit has told you i.e. that you are a sinner heading for a lost eternity, and in desperate need of salvation. The unforgivable sin, would have been to call the Holy Spirit a lier, which you clearly have not done, as you have accepted what He has said to you as being true, and you have repented, and received Jesus as your own personal saviour. Only thoes who refuse to believe what the Holy Spirit says about them, will as a result not be forgiven. I hope that this is of help. |

2 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | Saint Luke | 166518
Ebrain, It may just be a matter of phrasing, you said "will as a result not be forgiven". The salvation, that is ETERNAL LIFE, has been offered to mankind from GOD. The act of forgiveness of mankind's sin was accomplished by Christ sacrificial death. Once for all is pretty clear. Hebrew 10:10-12 It is purely a person's unbelief, the unforgivable sin, that keeps a person from receiving ETERNAL LIFE and the forgiveness that Heavenly Father has already provided. The TRUTH will MAKE you FREE. Luke |

3 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | CDBJ | 166527
Greetings Luke, The object isn’t getting everlasting or eternal life as it were. I think a lot of people loose sight of the object of Faith, Jesus. Eternal life is only a fraction of what one receives when they have the Son. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. Once a person has the Son they get it all; not just eternal life. People are always trying to get eternal life, which they can’t do. Eternal life is a free gift, or if I may so bold as to say, a by product, that comes automatically when one puts all their faith in Jesus and they receive the Son. John 14:6 “In part for emphasis” Jesus saith unto him, I am the life: 1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. I believe the big problem, once in the family of God, is staying in fellowship, i.e. exercising the function of I John 1:9. “Grieve not and quench not.” We are to keep a very short log time while out of the control of the Spirit. In other words we “aren’t supposed” to let the old sin nature rule the house! God says; Hebrews 13:5 (B) I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. God wants to be in charge of of us and Paul says that’s where the battle starts because after we receive a new nature we still retain our old one, sin nature, and sometimes it wants to be king of the hill. Romans 7:19-23 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. [20] Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. [21] I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. [22] For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: [23] But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Our old sin nature has a battle plan, lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and the pride of life. God has a counter attack plan but, it “MUST” start with I John 1:9 and then orders of the day can start to function, residual Bible doctrine that we have stored up in our frame of reference applied to the problem area or the breach in the line of our defense. Have a great day, CDBJ |

4 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | Saint Luke | 166573
CDBJ Couldn't agree with you more! The thing that I see in many Christian's lives, especially those who are not growing in faith, is the fact that they are still in bondage over the sin issue, and whether or not they are saved from one moment to the next! I see many Christians who go forward in church services to receive the forgiveness of sins, but never proceed past that point for years or even decades. I also see it creeping into this forum with the endless discussions on "what sins are unforgiven" theme. Why are earth is the Christian population not stepping forward to help those who are stuck with this thinking grow in Grace? I suspect is is because the majority of the Christians are trapped in this same thinking. The TRUTH will MAKE you FREE!! Luke |

5 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | CDBJ | 166590
Hi Luke, The writer of Hebrews hit the nail right on the head with regards to those that you referenced in your previous post. Hebrews 5:13-14 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. [14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. That brings back memories of my working days when someone would brag that they have 20 years of experience. I would say that it’s more like 1 year of experience, 20 times! Some Christians never seem to grow even after years of being a believer. Hebrews 6:1-3 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, [2] Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. [3] And this will we do, if God permit I blame this inpart on the miserable excuse that we have today for churches. They are more interested in programs then cranking out the Word; line upon line, precept upon precept here a little there a little. 2 Tim. 4:1-2 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; [2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. Doctrine, doctrine, doctrine!!! Clear cut Biblical doctrine just isn’t being “categorically” taught now days! After we sing for thirty minutes, seven verses, of the same song, eleven different times, then we receive a 25 minute sermonette from a preacherette. The saints of today don’t have enough sense, biblically speaking, to come in out of the rain, but they sure can sing! It would appear that someone rewrote a verse of scripture. 2 Apostasy 2:15 (Sing to show thyself approved unto God a singer that needeth not to be ashamed, properly singing in the right key.) I guess you can tell this is a pet peeve!! My local church is “very big” and very shallow and the constituents all need copious amounts of milk! We have looked for a church within a twenty mile radius of our home and the scenario doesn’t get any better. Ephes. 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; [12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 2 Tim. 4:1-5 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; [2] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. [3] For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; [4] And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. [5] But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. Enough soap box for today, CDBJ |

6 | Unforgiveable Sin? | Eph 1:7 | mark d seyler | 166593
Hi CDBJ, You remind me of how blessed I am to have church 10 minutes from my home, led by a pastor who digs into the Word. We go through the Bible, front to back, going into the Old and New Testaments in every study, in the simple, yet simply profound truths of God. We do sing, but not the mindless reps. Everything from Calvary Chapel and the Vineyard, to Toplady and Luther. Its not a big church, but there is the bond of love amongst us. I will pray that you will be able to have this. Maybe the Lord might be leading you to start a home church, an alternative for those of you who feel the same way??? (I don't know, I'm just tossing it out there...) Love in Christ, Mark |
