1 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | Tamara Brewington | 205286
Dear Cheri, I have insomnia, it is usesless to lay in bed taking medication that does not work, so I get up and study to while away the time before going back to bed for more torture. I actually have class tomorrow morning, but am too restless for the bed that is why I am up. I already agreed with this point of view, the truth if you will, but was more interested in whether or not anyone in here considers it to be false doctrine or merely a mistaken belief. Thank you for answering, I was afraid that once every one saw it was suppossedly answered that they wouldn't bother, which is why I stopped posting altogether. My real question never gets addressed and the whole thing gets lost in the shuffle. No one intends me any harm, they just answer the part that interests them, or that sticks out to them as being important and skip the actual question right over, which I clearly state every time. Like I said, no one means to be short, or any harm, every one here is sincere, I truly believe that or we would not be in here trying to divide the word of God. So I will pose the question again for you; Based on what I said in the original post, are Jesus plus concepts to be considered merely mistaken views about the process of salvation, or are they false doctrines? God's Day To You, Tamara |

2 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | skccab | 205293
Shalom, Yes, I noticed that I missed that part (I'm at work, which is a pretty good excuse for being scatter-brained, this time anyeay, lol). So, since you asked, it sounds like just mistaken views to me. I see false doctrines as usually being malicious for one reason or another and these just sound like mistakes because they don't deter from that which is necessary, nor do they line someone's pockets with believers hard earned money. Although, I'm not so sure about the tarrying at the altar one - that could really put a stumbling block in front of a fervent believer. It probably wouldn't be for malicious purposes but it could still prove to be disastrous, in more ways than one! (I was one of those that got told that some 30 years ago!) Again, just my opinion. 3 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | lionheart | 205312
Cheri, My heart always sings when I get to read your posts. This whole thing with all the Jesus plus theories drives me a bit schitzo at times. And theory is exactly what they are theory with enough sugar coating to make em look biblical. Good sound bible study and exegesis would clear up the majority of these things. One thing that kind of gets me scratching my head though is how did baptism wound up on the Jesus plus list. 1 Peter 3:21, Ro 6:1-11, Mtt 28:18-20. This one gets continuously mucked up because people refuse to get thier heads out of the water and see that Jesus Christ and cleansing power of his blood is central issue and focus of baptism. Paul spends a considerable amount handling this subject. We have as Peter state in 2 Peter 1:3 God has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness. Light dispels darkness we gotta gotta be ever mindfull and keep our eyes open. In Him, lionheart |

4 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | skccab | 205351
Hi Lionheart, and God's shalom to you! How very sweet of you to say that! Forgive me for taking so long to get back to you - been a very busy day. I agree with you, for sure. I think baptism got in the mix simply because people just seem to want to make what is so simple so very difficult and convoluted. Isn't it sad, that it is just human nature to want to earn something and not be beholden to anyone? How we could possibly think we could, in any way, earn what God so graciously FREELY gave us is beyond me, too! But, again, I don't think that it's of malicious intent, just misguided, misunderstanding of the Truth. Just teaching what they were taught by those who received the same teaching, etc. Cheri |

Cheri, Dear heart commandment of God is commandment of God whether it be baptism or anything else. We will always get ourselves in trouble when we start trying to rationalize God's Word. Much love dear sis. In Him, lionheart |
