1 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | skccab | 205285
Good morning Tam, Glad to see someone else up at this hour!! Question: Do you believe that salvation is the same for all involved? At any given time? Including the saints of old, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, etc? If so, then those 3 senarios must prove false. Those men (and unnamed ladies) never received baptism as prescribed in the gospels or letters. They partook of cleansing, purification rituals but the two rituals are a bit different and performed for different reasons. Also, because churches now, most often, have classes people attend prior to baptism, you have to think about the ones who get saved and then must wait a week, a month, or more before baptism - what about if they have a fatal accident before baptism? I believe they are as saved as you and I. As far as your friends bearing good fruit, that would be expected because they are true believers. If they got baptized thinking that was a part of their salvation "requirements", it wouldn't annul the part that truly was required, i.e., repent and believe. Repent and believe in the Lord. That and that alone is what saves. Nothing more, nothing less, and nothing else. Just my 2cents worth :-) Shalom Cheri |

2 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | Tamara Brewington | 205286
Dear Cheri, I have insomnia, it is usesless to lay in bed taking medication that does not work, so I get up and study to while away the time before going back to bed for more torture. I actually have class tomorrow morning, but am too restless for the bed that is why I am up. I already agreed with this point of view, the truth if you will, but was more interested in whether or not anyone in here considers it to be false doctrine or merely a mistaken belief. Thank you for answering, I was afraid that once every one saw it was suppossedly answered that they wouldn't bother, which is why I stopped posting altogether. My real question never gets addressed and the whole thing gets lost in the shuffle. No one intends me any harm, they just answer the part that interests them, or that sticks out to them as being important and skip the actual question right over, which I clearly state every time. Like I said, no one means to be short, or any harm, every one here is sincere, I truly believe that or we would not be in here trying to divide the word of God. So I will pose the question again for you; Based on what I said in the original post, are Jesus plus concepts to be considered merely mistaken views about the process of salvation, or are they false doctrines? God's Day To You, Tamara |

Tam, Sorry, Yes I think it is a false doctrine. :-) Sorry I thought that was pretty clear. But Children of God can be taught false doctrine, by well meaning people they Love and trust who have also been taught the same thing, it happens all the time, and as you know, all to often, but they don't lose their Salvation. God bless John |

4 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | Tamara Brewington | 205296
Dear John! Good one! But I thought false doctrine is taught by false prophets and don't they go to hell automatically!? Like I said, no harm was meant by anyone who may or may not have answere the question. I gotta watch that folks may be answering without using my language, sorry John. God's Grace Tamara |

5 | Mistaken View Or False Doctrine? | Eph 1:13 | stjohn | 205299
Well, I think that's right. Somewhere in the mix there has to be a false prophet, but a child of God can be deceived, though there are some that teach that this is not so, but also, that is false. And thus a false doctrine can be fostered and even passed from church to Church, as we can see pretty easy when we just look around. But a true Child of God will hear the truth when they hear it, now they may have to hear it a bunch, depending on how hard their head is, but I think they will indeed hear it. I have known some saints that have stayed on where there was false teaching in hope to find God's own and teach them the truth, so we should never judge one because of what we may think, cause we just don't know for sure. I've even known of, but not personaly, some preasts that believed in true doctren but staid to teach. Oh and Tam, I often don't really read the short question, just the post as that is where most have the substance of their question, and in your post it was not all that clear to me that that was what you were asking, even though I thought I did sort of answer it. I guess too that I was also kind of confused because I couldn't really understand why you were asking that question (i.e. the whole of it) as your posts have reveled that you already knew that, so I was a little surprised at that as well. Sorry I get confused easy sometimes. Knowing my love of brevity, or should I say succinctness, you should know I would have rather answered the shorter one! :-) God bless John |
