Afternoon all, In Genesis, 26 where God says let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness.... If the US is referring to The Father, The Son and the holy Spirit. And The Father, The Son and the holy Spirit, are ONE, Then why would he not just say "I will make man in my Image after My likeness? |

ucmenew, Thank about the sitting God is in when He is making this statement. Who is He talking to? By using the plural He is already starting to reveal the Trinity. Another example of this occurs in Gen. 1-1 where the word for God is Elohim which is in thr plural form of theoriginal lanuage. However plural here denotes three or more for in the original lanuage there is singular, dual and plural forms of words. It is amazing howgreat of God we serve and how much He loves us and wants us to know that He starts from verse 1 to revile Himself to us. However I would have to respectfully disagree with the Mary part of some of the previous answers. When God speaks of His image He is talking about those attributes of God that all of us have. There are four of these the soul, the emotions, the free will or ability to choose and a soul. This passage is intended to open up the teaching of the Trinity and to reveal the fact we are created in God's image. In Christ Love, tgc |
