1 | Just as if I had never sinned? | 1 Cor 6:11 | charis | 354
Dear load, As you can see from the subsequent answers that your question generated, there is the eternal, not-yet-realized answer (Yes), and the present, day-to-day answer (No). Which one were you asking? The soul might prefer the 'Yes', and try to apply it to the right now, which could lead to a denial of sin. The other problem is that many are led to believe in the infallibility of the believer and the church, only to be let down by the reality. Some become so disappointed in this that the leave the church, or even the Lord. An more honest appraisal of today will give us more appreciation of eternity. Let us all know the motive of your question.
2 | Just as if I had never sinned? | 1 Cor 6:11 | load | 477
Some believers find it useful to remember complex doctrines of the Word with small, easy to remember anecdotes. My motive...to get opinions regarding the one I had heard regarding justification. After reading the postings, I am reminded of how one must be careful in the way they handle the truths of God, and to realize the importance of struggling with the Word until it has become a part of who we are and why we believe. Thanks for your comments. |
