Greetings Radioman2 - it has been over a year since you posted here but I came across this note and was hoping that you might expand on this a bit. How does one "destroy" the temple of the Holy Spirit? From reading the info on the word destroy, it appears to have a more spiritual context. I'm thinking in terms of what Jesus said about leading a "little one astray" Mt 18:6 - Anyone else care to chime in here? mommapbs |

Mommapbs, I will sing praise to the Lord my God in my heart the day long! I will sing of his mercy his and love and his grace! I will sing to him with a joyful heart! I will sing praises to the Lord! Yes, I want to chime in. In Radioman's post he reffers to 1 Cor 6:19. In my way of thinking (That's scary, isn't it?), that scripture answers the question on suisude. It tells me that I am not my own, so, God is the one who appoints the time that I should leave this body and be clothed with the other one that he has prepared for me. This verse from Hebrews came to mind also: Heb 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, As far as destroying the temple of the Holy Spirit is concerned, I would agree with you. Here are a few verses from 1 Cor 12. In this chapter Paul is speaking of spiritual gifts. 1 Cor 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. 1 Cor 12:12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. 1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. 1 Cor 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many. 1 Cor 12:15 If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. Blessing to you T! Always your brother in prayer and praise, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

3 | Taking ones own life | 1 Cor 3:17 | Mommapbs | 140520 | ||
Greetings D! I nearly fell over when I got your post in my e-mail! It has been a long time . . . How are you and yours? This passage has intrigued me a bit, though not from the suicide angle. In all we do, even discipline, we are called to "edify" one another. I think that in our interaction with others, "destroying" is what happens more frequently though. Those whose faith is immature or weak are often shaken or abused by those more "mature" or "Scripturally informed" . . . just as the Lord was tender, gentle and full of compassion, I see the need for this in my attitude toward those who have not gotten very far in their journey with the Lord. Great to hear from you - keep posting! Blessings, t |

T, We are doing fine. Thank you for asking. Is all well with you? After reading your post, which was very good, these scriptures came to mind. I was quilty of the same thing you speak of in time past, holding those less informed to a standard that I, not the Lord, set. I was corrected by these scriptures, especially Gal 6:3; that one HURT! Rom 14:1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions Rom 15:1 Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength and not just please ourselves. Gal 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. Gal 6:3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Gal 6:4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another. Always your brother in Chist our Lord, David I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |

but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth; for I delight in these things," declares the LORD. Jer 9:24 Finally, everyone in here under my roof! I have a lttle understanding of what God's heart will be like when WE all are under His! We celebrate today - and every day! Col 1:27 t |
