It is never acceptable to give God an ultimatum. He just doesn't work that way. God doesn't bargain with people, as in the example you cited. Going back to the figure of the potter and the clay, does the thing made say to the One who made it, "If you'll give me A, then I'll give up B?" I am not upbraiding you for asking the question. I think a lot of sincere people want to bargain with God at one time or another. But that just isn't the way He does things. Grace to you, kalos |
