1 | Who groans - us or the Holy Spirit? | Rom 8:26 | Searcher56 | 148370
No one is speaking in tongues no matter what. Read "unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance" "groanings too deep for words" ... this is not a language, which tongues is. 1. We do not know how to pray as we should 2. So the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words ... so it is the Spirit who is groaning too deep for words ... so we cannot claim this for our prayer language ... if one did they are saying they not know how to pray as they should Verse 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now (women understand this) Verse 23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. ... groan within ourselves sounds like it is internal - no sounds come out. 2 | Who groans - us or the Holy Spirit? | Rom 8:26 | prayon | 148587
I take this statement another way - not that we do not know how to pray - We do, Jesus taught us in Matt 5:5-15. I believe that this statement means that we do not always know what we need to pray for. Too many times the flesh enters into our prayers and we pray for what our flesh would want which is not necessarily what we need. prayon |
