AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 8:26 ¶ In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. |
Bible Question: Susan, who groans - us or the Holy Spirit? I read post 148198 ... but I see the Holy Spirit pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance ... it is not us. |
Bible Answer: No one is speaking in tongues no matter what. Read "unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance" "groanings too deep for words" ... this is not a language, which tongues is. 1. We do not know how to pray as we should 2. So the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words ... so it is the Spirit who is groaning too deep for words ... so we cannot claim this for our prayer language ... if one did they are saying they not know how to pray as they should Verse 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now (women understand this) Verse 23 And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body. ... groan within ourselves sounds like it is internal - no sounds come out.
