Brother Brad, How can "depart from THE FAITH not be dealing with salvation? Isn't there only one FAITH? And Judas was just as saved as any of the other disciples. If anybody would be questionable as far as saved is concerned we could easily condemn all the disciples. Remember when Jesus rebuked Peter "get behind me Satan" and the name so familiar with Thomas (doubting). Jesus called them qualified them and sent saved men out to preach the gospel, heal, and cast out devils. Truly the scripture foretold of the betrayer, but any of the twelve could have been the one. The fact is that Judas gave place to the Devil and therefore he was the one. Joh 13:27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. I don't want to give the impression that our salvation can't be secure, I just want to express the fact that some belive salvation is a one time deal, there in no need to have a relationship with God and his Son, and this is refuted throughout all of scripture. There is no scriptural evidence that suggests we can't backslide! We don't have to, but it is possible. And indeed the grace of God is more than able to keep us as well as save us, but God will never force us. You used Titus 2:11-12, and that is the issue I've tried to point out to many. Grace has a lesson to teach and it is that if you are saved you are activly saved it isn't a passive experience. You will be zealous of good works, dening ungodliness and worldly lusts, living soberly, righteously, and Godly in this present world. It won't be I was saved when I was 12, and it really doesn't matter how I live now! That only spits in the face of Jesus because that type of lifestyle expresses that there is no power in his blood to convert the sinner. And we know 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Speaking The Truth In Love Rev. Thomas H. Guinn |

In a previous post (ID# 30239)someone wrote: 'The question has been debated, "Did Judas go to hell?" It seems to me the question could have been better resolved had it been considered from the perspective of whether Judas lost his salvation or whether he [n]ever had it to begin with. The weight of evidence in the New Testament points to the latter conclusion. Judas never "backslid" because he never "slid forward" -- he never was a truly regenerate disciple of Jesus Christ.' But I say unto you: Judas was definitely saved. Following are the Scripture passages that prove it beyond a doubt. NASB Luke 22:3 And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve. NASB John 13:2 During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, [the son] of Simon, to betray Him, KJV John 6:70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? NASB John 13:26-27 So when He had dipped the morsel, He took and gave it to Judas, [the son] of Simon Iscariot. After the morsel, Satan then entered into him. AMPLIFIED John 13:26-27 So when He had dipped the morsel of bread [into the dish], He gave it to Judas, Simon Iscariot's son. Then after [he had taken] the bit of food, Satan entered into and took possession of [Judas]. KJV John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition [Judas Iscariot -- the one who is now doomed to destruction, destined to be lost (AMPLIFIED)]; that the scripture might be fulfilled. KJV Acts 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. If you will carefully read the entire book of 1 John, you will see that all of the above verses about Judas show that he possessed every evidence of geniune saving faith. NOT! |

It is amazing to me that you ignore some key words in the very scriptures you use. NOTICE: NASB Luke 22:3 And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, BELONGING to the number of the twelve. KJV John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is LOST but the son of perdition [Judas Iscariot -- the one who is now doomed to destruction, destined to be lost (AMPLIFIED)]; that the scripture might be fulfilled. *You have to have possession of something before you can lose it* KJV Acts 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas BY TRANSGRESSION FELL, that he might go to his own place. FELL FELL FELL FELL FELL What about Mark 3:13 ΒΆ And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ORDAINED TWELVE, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to PREACH, 15 And to have POWER to heal sicknesses, and to CAST OUT DEVILS: Satan cannot cast out Satan, or else his kingdom is divided. If we are saved and nothing can ever change that, then why would God bother giving us any other New Testament books after the Gospels. If there is no enduring, no steadfastness, no watching and praying, no relationship, then why even bother with this thing called Christianity? Why would Jesus even bother telling us to "watch and pray for in such an hour as you think not the Son of Man commeth (He was talking to believers)? |
