Jlpangilinan, "this verse is a very big reason that a truly saved person cannot go back to his old sins, because it is Christ live in him. If Christ truly lives in us I dont we are still capable of killing stealing or raping so on and so fort." How do you connect the verse below on your conclusion? Psalm 37:24 though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand This verse says, even though we are saved, being in this sinful flesh, we will still sin ( stumble ) but God will not let us lose our salvation ( fall ) as He will hold our hands like the way He held Peter, as long as we do what Peter did "Lord, save me" ( Matt 14.30 ) NGOP |

If it is impossible to lose your salvation, why did Paul warn Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils; In order to depart from something you must first be in it. Judas was one of the disciples, who went out and preached the gospel and rejoiced because the devils were subject unto him, and Jesus responded "rejoice not in that the spirits are subject to you but rather rejoice for your names are written in Heaven." Luke 10:17-20 17 ΒΆ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Also consider Jesus' promise not to BLOT out the names of the Sardis belivers. Why would this be a promise that Jesus needed to make if it was impossible to happen anyway? Revelation 3:2-5 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. We must be careful of the eternal security doctrine, because it can leave a person with a false sense of security. The grace of God will indeed be longsuffering, and if a person backslides they have to go over many road blocks that Christ sets up. God has also given us all the power we will ever need to make it, and every gift of his Spirit to help us overcome. However if any man willfully turns from Christ, he will eventually "depart from the Faith". It is they that endure until the end that shall be saved. Matthewt 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. |

He who overcomes shall thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life. Revelation 3:5 "It is unfortunate that this passage in Revelation has become a focal point of controversy. The result has been a fixation on what the verse does not say rather than what it does say. This verse was never intended as a warning. Within its context there is nothing negative or foreboding about these words. In fact, it makes a strong statement in favor of eternal security. It is a passage of encouragement and praise. "The comments are directed to a group of faithful believers from the church in Sardis. Unlike the majority of the folks in their congregation, this handful of members had remained unsoiled by the world around them. The verse in question contains Christ's commendation to this group for their consistent walk. "To assume from what is said here that God will possibly erase names from the book of life is to read into the text a concept clearly not present. At best, it is an argument from silence, for the verse simply reads, "And I will not erase his name from the book of life." If this statement raises doubts for some about eternal security, they would do well to search the Scriptures for an answer. But to base one's answer to this important question on this verse is to adopt a method of study with the potential of leading to all kinds of problematic conclusions." (...) "The good news is, God's pencil has no eraser. Before you breathed your first word, God knew how you would respond to His offer of grace. According to His foreknowledge, He wrote your name in the book of life. And there it shall remain forever. Jesus said it this way: "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand. John 10.27-28 "And as if that were not clear enough: "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. John 10.29 " (To read the entire article, which I suggest you do before you post questions, go to: http://www.intouch.org/myintouch/exploring/bible_says/eternal_security/erase_149096.html) |

The letters to the 7 Churches is indeed a waring of the coming judgement of God. It is written to the CHURCHES not heathens. This scripture I used is not taken out of context, all the belivers at Sardis are acknowledged. I know thy works! There is a promise made to the faithful I will not blot out your names, but the whole tone of each letter to the churches (except for the Philidelphia Church) is one of repent and return. Return from your backslidden condition. Consider each churches rebukes: Rev. 2 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Rev.2 10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Rev. 2 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Rev.2 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. 26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: Rev. 3 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Rev. 3 11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Rev.3 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Did you notice some of the words used "hold fast, be faithful, he that overcometh, Watch, like a thief, these scriptures are a warning to be ready! And Thank God that nobody can snatch me out of the hand of God. If I'm snatched out I am taken out against my will! Speaking The Whole Truth In Love Rev. Thomas H. Guinn |
