Greetings Thomas! Do you mind if I respond? In Rom. 7-8, Paul is talking about the sin nature (or the 'sarx'). In 1 Cor. 9:27, Paul uses a different word. He refers to beating his body (or 'soma') into subjection. In 1 Cor. 9:27, Paul is not speaking of a sin nature, but rather the kind of discipline that an athlete would use to win a contest. Two different words are used with two entirely different meanings. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Hi Tim, Thank you. How do you understand "but with the flesh (sin nature) the law of sin." Is Paul here saying it still exists? Sincerely, Thomas |
