1 | Abraham OUR forefather accordingto FAITH | Rom 4:1 | gospelmidi | 110938
The word "our" (Gr. "hemon") appears to be a typo. Although Paul was a descendant of Abraham, he was writing to the gentile Christians in Rome. And, no, they weren't sons of Ishmael either. "To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints." - Ro 1:7a Abraham was the forefather of gentile Christians according to faith, but not according to the flesh. |

gospelmidi - In reference to Romans 4:1, you say, "The word 'our' (Gr. hemon) appears to be a typo." ..... I've checked a half dozen leading translations and they all of them seem to have made the same "typo." Doesn't that strike you as odd, that none of these translators and editors caught the "typo"? If you are referring to a "typo" in the ancient Greek texts, your term is inaccurate since typos are possible only with moveable type. If by "typo" you mean an error in the biblical manuscripts, I should think you would have no objection to offering objective and authoritative proof of your claim. --Hank
