1 | Does ignorance excuse accountability? | Rom 4:15 | Mommapbs | 112811 | ||
If we are unaware (ignorant) of a Law of God, does God hold us accountable to it? What would be a case "where there is no law?" |

mommapbs, I don't think so. In Romans 1: 16-18 it says that they know who God is but have turned away in willful ignorance. Elsewhere it says if we are guilty of one law we are quilty of all and have earned death. So I don't see any escape from the penalty. |

Yes, I agree. Consider man from the Fall to the Flood. Although there was no written "law," sin abounded. The law was given (recorded)so that man could recognize sin right? But the problem of sin is greater than just "following the rules." "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." Gen 6:5 It is the intent of the heart - a heart not turned to God, that the Lord regards. Do we need a "law" to "sin against"? We do quite nicely on our own! Each one has turned his own way, no one seeks after God . . . thanks be to our Lord who came to seek and to save(Lk 19:10). Blessings, mommapbs |
