Brad, please forgive me, but it is not my place to "prove" anything to you, or anyone else. You have access to the Word just as I do. If you were familiar with it, you would know to what I refer. May I humbly suggest, you spend a little more time therein. In the KJV, there are 74 references to the word "judgment" in the NT; 58 references to the word "judge." Were you to do a word study on either, or both, no doubt, you wouldn't need me to provide you with the "proof" you desire, and the knowledge you gleaned would be much more valuable to you than if I did all the work.If you still do not find the "proof" you desire, you may wish to read up on some of the history books in the Bible. There are many statements which can only be found in scripture through the reading of more than just a passage or two. Think back to King David. Did he not see judgment while he was still alive, for his sin with Bathsheba? Did his very own son not rape his daughter, and the brother of that daughter, did he not kill that son? Did David, he who was after the very heart of God, not loose his kingdom? Do you think these occurrences were just fate? As I previously stated concerning my former statements, "I would provide [scripture as a whole] as the framework for my statements." Humbly NYP |

Not yet: It's been an interesting four-year trip on Study Bible Forum. All one has to do is sit back, enjoy the ride, and watch history repeat itself. For example there was, some three years ago as I recall, a certain User A who said something to a certain User B about proving his assertions, whereupon User B said to User A, "I don't have to prove anything to you. Everything I've said is in the Bible. Look it up." ...... See what I mean about history repeating itself on the Forum? ...... I have an appointment with my doctor for a yearly physical exam in July. If that doctor tells me that he doesn't have to prove anything or explain anything to me about my physical condition on the grounds that I have as much access to medical books as he does, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll never darken his door again. Have a nice day. --Hank

Thank you Hank, but I am sure that you will agree that there are various truths in scripture which simply are not stated word for word. As to your Doctor analogy, I appreciate and understand it, but I claim no Doctorate which is not readily available to all who wish to know the truth concerning the Living Word of God. Nor do I receive the wage you are paying your Doctor to provide his services. I do firmly believe that 2 Timothy 2:15 was translated as it is, in the King James Version, for a reason, and that one of the greatest weapons the enemy possess is laziness toward self indulgence in the Word, and that it is better to teach a person to fish, rather than continuing to give him fish. Where in scripture, dear Hank, are we commanded to "prove anything" concerning the word? Are we not commanded to, "Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction." 2 Timothy 4:2 Have I not followed Peters word in " 1 Peter 3:15 "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." ? That I have chosen a method which attempts to draw one deeper into scripture, rather than sole dependency on others for information, Is this disrespectful? Dear Brother, can you tell me where in scripture we are commanded to prove the Word of God? Is this not rather left up to Gods discretion? Are we not simply to present that Word and the truth thereof? I pray you, Brad, Doc, and all who read can understand my analogy. Proof in in the beholder. In His loving Name I am Not Yet perfect, but I am on my way. |

NYP, Not yet, or whoever you are: Hmmmm, there is something familiar in your writing style. It rather reminds me of GeorJoy and Glory Bound. Oh, but it must be my age you know, just imagining things. Or am I? --Hank

I do not attempt to fool myself in thinking that I am the only person whos "style" goes against the grain. I did a brief search on Georjoy and Glory Bound. Interesting character, this Georjoy. Blunt and to the point, but I think I like him. As to Glory Bound. I see that he/she was praised until someone named "Hank" came on the scene. Why do you avoid answering my questions? NYP |
