1 | Lionstrong - God's love, plan-unbiblical | Rom 1:18 | FlyFisher | 21748
Hi everyone, I'm new here but just had to add a note to lionstrong's comment "unbiblical". Rom 5:8 "But God demonstrats His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Souds like love and a plan. John 3:16,17 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him." Sounds like love and a plan to me. I think His plan of saving us and not sending us to hell where we belong shows His love and didn't just happen on it's own |

2 | Lionstrong - God's love, plan-unbiblical | Rom 1:18 | Reformer Joe | 21761
Just a note for you. Two notes, actually. First, welcome to the forum! Second, Lionstrong was not saying that God doesn't have a plan. His argument is that the "us" referred to in Romans 5:8 is synonymous with the "whosoever believes in Him" in John 3:16, and those are the only ones for whom God has a WONDERFUL plan. --Joe! |

May the Peace of Christ be with everyone here! Joe, thank you for help me understand the statement. It helps. However, I still have a question, Did God send His Son for love of the whole world or just the elect? Maranatha! Larry |

You must be new here if you haven't seen my views on that. :) This topic has been covered in a major way on this forum. I would type "Christ elect" in the Quick Search window to read and add to those discussions. --Joe! |
